Casa Quercia offers beautiful views across Lago Trasimeno. Behind the house in the hills nestles the beautiful medieval village of Panicale and the equally pretty village of Paciano, both of which have great restaurants and bars. The possibilities of visits are endless, from the small local hill top villages of Chiusi, Citta Della Pieve and Castiglione del Lago, to further afield places such as Rome, Florence, Arezzo, Siena, Assisi and Perugia, to name but a few sites. Local activities include wind surfacing, bike riding, golf, parachuting, horse riding, swimming, walking. Casa Quercia offers the opportunity for guests to be as relaxed or as active as they wish.

The Umbria region
Casa Quercia is an ideal, central location for visiting many of the most famous and well loved places in this part of Italy. Within 10 minutes you can be in the medieval town of Panicale, looking down across Lago Trasimeno, yet within 1 hour you can be wondering at the spectacular Duomo in Orvieto. Rome and Florence are both an enjoyable train ride away from Chiusi main line station which is 20 minutes from the house and offers free car parking facilities.
Castiglione del Lago / Macchie area
This area of Umbria is bursting with places to see, small towns to visit and many great restaurants and coffee bars in which to while away many happy hours.There are boat trips to the Lake islands of Maggiore and Polvese and both offer good swimming areas. Macchie is the small local village, 10 minutes walk away. It has a good bakers, a post office, a small supermarket for essential items and several bars. The nearest restaurant/pizzeria is 5 minutes by car and sells wonderful pizzas and spaghetti to eat in or take away. Umbria Jazz is a huge event which happens each July. Trasimeno Blues events occur throughout the year. Cortona offers an outside cinema and regularly shows English films. Many other local festivals occur throughout the summer months. Wine tasting is available nearby at 'Il Poggio', a small family run cantina.
How to get there
The nearest airport is Perugia which is 45 minutes drive and is served by Ryanair with flights 3 times a week. Alternatively Rome, Ancona, Forli and Pisa are all approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. Main line train services to Chiusi from Rome or Florence 20 minutes drive from accommodation, with car hire available from main car hire companies. Local train services to Perugia, Assisi, Cortona from Castiglione Del Lago station.

Further details indoors: The accommodation is on the ground floor of the property and is light and spacious. The kitchen and living room are open plan and cool in the summer. All windows and doors have fly screens. The bedrooms are well equipped with the double room having patio doors to the garden.The bathroom is well furnished with a bath and over bath shower.The owners live in the upstairs apartment and are on hand for any help and advice about the area, but they are unobtrusive to guests during their stay.
Further details outdoors: The apartment has its own covered terrace to the front of the house, ideal for breakfasting. Guests also have their own seating area in the garden and the use of sunloungers, chairs and a sun umbrella.

Conditions
This is a non smoking property. Pets are not allowed. A refundable breakage deposit of £150 is required with the final payment, 6 weeks before the commencement of the letting period.This will be returned within 14 days of the end of the letting period if no breakages or damage have occured.

July 07 - We have so enjoyed our stay in this picturesque area. Your apartment is very comfortable and peaceful. August 07 - Local villages, towns bars and beaches a delight, but most of all returning here after a day out was coming home to cool, calm and peace. August 07 - Breakfast in the garden, dinner on the loggia, the cool inside and the comfortable fittings make this a lovely house. October 07 - We love the peace and quiet offered through this excellent apartment. Thank you for your friendly guidance. Fantastic food in local restaurants!
