A quiet and charming setting for you to enjoy country living. Cottage Grande is part of a working organic farm or agriturismo. It offers a real taste of the Tuscan traditions along with all the modern comforts you will appreciate for your family vacation.

The three bedroom and two bathroom Garden cottage is a recent addition to the farm. The cottage is situated on a small hillock surrounded by mature gardens and enjoys panoramic views of the surrounding valley - vineyards, olive groves and lush Tuscan landscapes.

Outside there is a very large garden, a traditional barbecue oven (with a supply of firewood) and a large swimming pool (12m x 6m). The pool is situated behind the apartments so as not to disturb the tranquility of other guests using the garden area

The cottage comprises: three large double bedrooms – one with en-suite bathroom plus a further large bathroom. The kitchen/dining room is fully equipped with all modern comforts including dishwasher etc and provides a good deal of space and light.

Each bedroom has been thoughtfully decorated creating individually themed rooms - or 'Camera'

Camera Rosa, has wonderful views of and access to the gardens.

Camera Verde - which has the en-suite bathroom, has a lovely outlook to the pine wood which also serves to keep the room pleasantly shaded in the warmer months.

Camera Gialla with its warming colours of summer wheat fields, is, like the other guest bedrooms - all tastefully furnished including Tuscan antiquities.

The Garden Cottage has a private portico with summer table and chairs providing a really lovely setting for al-fresco dining during the long summer evenings. From here you can enjoy the local wine and fresh produce whilst admiring the natural beauty and views of the surrounding gardens and countryside.

(For guests wanting total relaxation, there is also a large dining room where , (if required) breakfast, lunch and or dinner can be prepared and served during your stay. What better way to completely relax and enjoy your time in Tuscany - and experience a true taste of Tuscan living along with fresh produce from this lovely farm.

About this location

The Tuscany region

Tuscany, the fifth-largest region in Italy, has been making wine for centuries, but it is only over the last two decades or so that it has emerged as a leading producer of quality wines. Covering a little more than 15,000 square miles in central Italy, Tuscany is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea on the west and southwest, Liguria to the northwest, Emilia Romagna to the north, the Marche and Umbria to the east, and Lazio to the southeast.

The key wine producing areas include Brunello di Montalcino, Bolgheri, Carmignano, Chianti Classico, Chianti Rufina and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Sangiovese is the main grape for most of Tuscany, producing everything from light and refreshing simple Chiantis to big and powerful Brunello di Montalcino or Chianti Classico riserva. International varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are also important, either as small additions to traditional wines or as major components in groundbreaking ones. Traditional white varieties such as Trebbiano and Malvasia are used widely, although the best dry whites at the moment are made with Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
