The sitting room, like the rest of the house, is cool in summer and warm in winter and has a woodburning stove, sofas and armchairs, cd and dvd player to promote relaxation. The kitchen/diner also has a woodburning stove and is well stocked with crockery and utensils and has a large 5 gas ringed hob with electric oven. The bathroom is downstairs which is typical of houses in this area. Upstairs the huge master bedroom is double aspect with view to the pyrenees and the village church and woods. Both other double bedrooms are large and roomy, the front bedroom shares the view over the village to the pyrenees.
Further details outdoors:
The rose covered loggia has a large oak table and benches (there are also outdoor chairs) and looks out on to the walled front garden with roses, lavender and wisteria. An open barn at the end houses the table tennis - all of this area has outdoor lighting. Through a barn door and out into the large back garden housing the pool and open barn with barbecue. There is a shady grass area for children to play safely and the mature garden of flowers and fruit trees.

The Midi-Pyrenees / Hautes-Pyrenees region

The midi Pyrenees region of south west France is a unique and unspoilt area. It's magnificent mountain range dominates the rural landscape and it's an ideal area for those who wish to see France as it used to be. There are fantastic markets - a different one within a 1 hour drive of the house 7 days a week - beautiful bastide towns and tucked away auberge and logis de france restaurants for real French home cooking at its best. This is a popular area for cyclists, walkers and birdwatches as it has nature in abundance.
The Castelnau-Magnoac / Lassales area
Auch is 40 minutes away with its fantastic cathedral. Toulouse, the rose city, is just over an hour by car or train. Pau with it's historic centre and castle is around 1 hour. Closer to home Castelnau-Magnoac, Lannemezan, Trie sur Baise and Boulogne sur Gesse have good local shops, cafes and bars. Lourdes is around an hour or so away and you cannot beat a trip to the top of the Pic de Midi - the highest point in the French Pyrenees - summer or winter for breathtaking views. Spain is around 1.5 hours away through valleys with rushing rivers and small alpine style villages.
