Guestbook for Chateau Caillac
We are a group of friends who holiday every September with our kids. It was my turn to pick the destination this year and boy what pressure!
I was so relieved when we finally got to the gates of Chateau Caillac and got our first glimpse of this magnificent house. Everything about it was magical, The long tree lined drive, the turrets and of course the riverside location.
Once we all settled in and began to enjoy our holiday it was clear that this was certainly a perfect place for us. So much space in the gardens and so much to do with the kayak, boat, fishing rods, pool table, ping pong and so much more. As most of the group had kids and the facilities provided were ideal.
A special mention should go to to the outside kitchen! The enormous BBQ, Dishwasher and Fridge were perfect for our needs and we ate there most nights.
All in all we had a fantastic time and would recommend Chateau Cauillac to anyone considering it.
Griffen Family - North Wales - 2011
We stayed for two weeks as an extended family age range 1yr to 69 yrs.
The weather was perfect so we made much use of the poll and covered BBQ area which has a large first rate gas BBQ witha kitchen incorporatin a frige, dish washer, sink and cupboarde loded with enough cutlery and crockery for all 15 of us. This is matched by the equipment in the chateau, the that is on a grander scale and the eqipment in the separate accommodation
We fished and boated on the river, swam in the pool and relaxed in the shade of garden trees and in the chateau itself. I am trying to think of some criticism and the only one that comes to mind which afflicts all men who are over 6ft. tall is that beds with coards at both end can be a bit of a problem.
If you go to this chateau you have to visit fongrave on thursday evening in summer, people form miles around come for a party. One of our three year olds developed a tatse for snails!!
We all had a great time.
Kent - 2011
We arrived with 18 adults and teenagers in three families so we had the whole of the chateau accommodation.
We were blown away by the size of the rooms and the quality of the accommodation. There was plenty of space downstairs too although we hardly used it, preferring instead to use the outside poolside area with large bar-b-cue and fully equipped outdoor kitchen. The river was spectacular and we all enjoyed using the row boat and kayak provided. We were well looked after by Kim who was fantastic, always available if we needed advice on local places to visit and restaurants. It always feels a bit special driving down your own tree lined drive.
We had a very relaxing time using the pool and river and bar-b-cuing most evenings, however there were plenty of places to go and things to do if you wanted to stray from the chateau. We had just the best holiday and wished we could have stayed for 2 weeks rather than one.
Metcalf Family - 2011
"Having just returned from Chateau Caillac, everyone in our party agreed that they'd had the holiday of a lifetime. The setting for the Chateau is incredibly idyllic and Angela and Steve had thought of every little detail to make our stay perfect. It is one of the most heavenly spots I have ever stayed at, the only downside was leaving! I cannot wait to return as my 3 year old daughter called it “the princess castle” and this time for hopefully longer than a week.'" Archie Forbes Adam & Family - London - England - 2010
"An absolutely fabulous environment! Very well appointed and with excellent taste. Tranquil, beautiful, the river is a definite asset. "
"I would just like to say what an amazing week we all had in France. The chateau was an absolute dream and when we pulled into the drive for the first time I was absolutely blown away by beautiful it was."
"We had a wonderful time at the Chateau Caillac, everything was perfect"
"We had a fantastic holiday in your wonderful chateau. It was certainly the best we have stayed in yet, with so many lovely touches to make our break run smoothly. We very much hope to return, I can't wait to go back. We were considering staying on for a third week - it was so relaxing! Well thank you for allowing us to share your beautiful home, and thank you for the welcoming flowers, wine, etc. It feels strange not to have met you when we have enjoyed your hospitality from afar." Murray Family – Isle of White - 2010
"We had an absolutely lovely time, everyone agreed that the Chateau was so spacious and comfortable and we wouldn't change a thing. There is so much to do and it's so beautiful it’s hard to imagine anywhere that caters so well for every age group." Nesbitt/Neild family - London - 2010
