The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Lot et Garonne region
The River Lot flows through the rolling and fertile Lot et Garonne ; the area is famous for its prunes,as well as masses of other fruits and vegetables. Although Bordeaux's winesare better known, the area has many excellent wine regions locally. The East of the region boasts many castles ( such as Bonaguil ) and bastide towns and forests,similar to the Dordogne.
Castelmoron sur Lot / Fongrave area
The village This is a very friendly village with a bar/ shop/restaurant and a post office. There is a church with a magnificent carved, wooden altar and a pretty, little chapel. A 5 minute stroll takes you down to River Lot and this is an ideal place to sit and watch the river life and also provides an opportunity to pit your wits against the numerous fish.(fishing licences can be obtained from the village shop)

Air - To Bergerac from Stanstead, East Midlands, Southampton. - 45 minutes by car - To Bordeaux from Gatwick - 1hour 30 minutes by car - To Toulouse from Luton , 2 hours by car.

Further details indoors: This delightful little cottage, which has been tastefully restored, was originally a chai, or storage barn. It is situated in the unspoilt village of Fongrave which borders the River Lot. The village is surrounded by pretty orchards and rolling hills and is within easy reach of the many historical Bastide towns. Activities such as boating, fishing, horseriding are to be found close by. Fongrave is only 45 minutes from the nearest airport Bergerac and just 25 minutes from the A62 motorway.
Further details outdoors: Pool area This large L-shaped pool has been sympathetically enclosed for safety and provides an ideal area for swimming, relaxing and sunbathing. The large pool house has a kitchen area with sink, cupboards, dishwasher, fridge and a washing machine. There is a large built-in barbecue, a large range style oven and a dining area. There is an automatic awning to provide shade which covers the whole poolhouse. This area also includes a toilet, a shower room and a walk in storage cupboard.
Garden The pretty, secluded, garden contains many mature trees which provide welcome shade in the heat of the day.
