La Maison - This charming house which was originally a house built in 1870 for a Notaire has been tastefully restored and decorated and retains many original features. It is situated in the unspoilt village of Fongrave which borders the River Lot.
The village is surrounded by pretty orchards and rolling hills and is within easy reach of the many historical Bastide towns. Activities such as boating, horseriding fishing and golf are close by. We are only 45 minutes from the nearest airport and just 25 minutes from the A62 motorway.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Lot et Garonne region
The local area - Historically this is an interesting area with close links to English history - Eleanor of Aquitaine, Richard The Lionheart and The Hundred Years War, to mention just a few!
There are local markets and good restaurants nearby and the cities of Bordeaux and Toulouse can be reached within a couple of hours via Motorways.
Famous vineyards such as Duras, St Emilion, Buzet and Monbazillac are not too far away and are well worth a trip or you can sample the local wines, which are even closer!
Castelmoron sur Lot / Fongrave area
The village - This is a very friendly village with a bar/ shop and restaurant. There is also a post office, a church with a magnificent carved wooden altar and a pretty chapel.
The house is within five minutes stroll of the river which besides being picturesque is an ideal area for fishing ( fishing licences can be obtained from the village shop).
During the months of July and August evening markets are held by the river, and food, wine and live entertainment is available.
The village is on a cycle route and bicycles can be hired weekly in the next village.
