About the home

In the antique towncentre on the catedral square in the charming small town Castelló, Castell Amarillo provide you with a base of complete luxury and easy access to the Costa Brava area.

From the square you enter the house' extensive garden with flowers and palms. A level higher, the huge terrace has an excellent view, plenty of chairs and sunbeds and easy access to the house. Entering the house, you will be met by the stunning view of the extensive hall, with original paintings from century XVIII.

From the hall you have access to the many fantastic rooms of the house, two of them suites. Besides the extensive common rooms, you have the option of more private moments in the many different living rooms with own kitchens situated around the house.

In low and medium season, you can rent part of the house for a lower price. Request more information.

Every room in the house is carefully decorated and furnished with quality furniture. The rooms are very spacious and all of them has access to sofagroups and other comodities. Any detail is perfect and of course the cleaning is of a very high standard.

Further details outdoors:
Next to the indoor swimming pool, there are changing facilities, showers and toilets. There is a massage-room, where a local certified person offers massage.

There is an internet room with two computers and a flatscreen television where the kids can watch one of the many movies available or movies you bring on DVD. All free of use.

There are 7-8 bikes free to use, one of them with a baby seat. The area is flat and has many signposted cycling routes.

40% deposit paid in advance within 8 days after reservation.
By cancellation more than 1 1/2 month before 50% of the deposit will be refunded. By cancellation less than 1 1/2 month before, the deposit will not be refunded.
The price includes: electricity, heating, linen, towels and the final cleaning by departure.

The Costa Brava/Catalonia region

Costa Brava is wellknown for its wonderful beaches. In the north, from the French more and 30 km. south, you will find small cosy beaches hidden between the rocks and with access from curving roads. In Roses and Empuria Brava you find classic "bounty-beaches.

Costa Brava is part of the Girona region. The capitol Girona is a lively city with 100.000 inhabitants, enjoying the life on the numerous squares. The city has a lot of history from the arabic baths to the juwish nabourhood. If you want to overview the city, the walk on the wall surrounding the city is very recommendable.

Culturally, Dalí is a central person, with his museum in Figueres, his home in Cadaquez and his castle in Puból. But the region has many interesting museums and exhibisions.

Although the beaches take most of the attention, the Girona province has much more to offer. There are many natural parcs in the pre-pyrenees worth a visit. Likewise, the flat area just before Costa Brava is excellent for bicicling. There are indicated routes and many quiet village wtih local restaurants.

Speaking of restaurants, do not forget that Catalonia is the province with most Michelin stars in the world and the home of the world famous El Buli. Many people come to the Girona province to take advantage of the many restaurants of high quality in all price levels.

Inland from Girona you find the cosy town Banyoles, where you can enjoy the beach of the freshwater lake. further up, you find the historic towns of Olot and Besalú. In this area you can also visit the Catalan volcanos.

A visit to the Girona province and the Costa Brava area can really be recommended. And remember that the 25 degrees in April, May, June, September and October can be much more pleasant than the hot summer. Even in the winter months, the province with its mild climate is an excellent destination. - And then there are less tourist to share the pleasure with!

The Castello d' Empuries area

Castelló is an excellent holiday base. It is beautiful Catalan town with few tourist and still only 4 km. from some of the best beaches in Spain. Enjoy the life on the squares and go on excursions to the beaches, the nearby golf courses, the Dalí museums, go hiking in the nearby Pyrenees or take advantage of some of the many other activies in the area. The village has several small autentic restaurant and small bars. If you want to explore the more turistic area, you can go to Empuriabrava just 4 km. from the house

It is very easy to get to the house. There are three Airports nearby: Girona Airport (40 km.), Perpignan Airport (80 km.), Barcelona Airport (120 km.). It is only 10 km. from motorway AP7/E15 connecting Barcelona and France. If you want, you can arrive by public transport, either direct buses from Barcelona or by train to Figueres and then bus from there.

We were very happy with the house and Castello d'Empuries the town which greatly exceeded our expecations. Also found Martha to be very helpful and nice. Couldn't have been better - only disappointment was when we arrived in Barcelona we were disappointed when compared to Castello :)

Our stay was wonderful I will be definitely recommending to my friends and colleaugues!

It was a abeautiful part of Spain and the villa was equisite. For a large family of 13 it was perfect for socialising but also having an escape when we needed it. Thanks for all your help in the run up to our stay.
