The Castellina in Chianti area
The historic town of Castellina in Chianti is in the province of Siena, Tuscany. It was first established around 700BCE by the Etruscans and has a long and varied history. Today, the Rocca (or castle) still remains complete with massive 14th century tower. The Rocca also houses a little museum about the Etruscans. The town is also full of beautiful churches and in the surrounding area there are ancient tombs and tunnels.
