The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur region

Set in the 'Parc Naturel Regional du Verdon' this impressive landscape is unique in Europe with the Verdon Gorge its main attraction, being some 700M deep in places.

The village lies on the Napoleon Route which runs from the Golfe Juan on the coast, via Grasse to Grenoble and on to Paris. It was along this road that Napoleon marched his army in 1815 ready to reconquer his title after years in exile.

Ceranga is 10 minutes level walk to the village centre with it's attractive square, cafes, restaurants, small boutiques, twice weekly market and local swimmimg pool.

Castellane is a large Provencal village best known as a centre for outdoor activities and pursuits such a rambling, horse riding, canoeing, rafting and river fishing.

Wooded mountain scenery surrounds the village and a picturesque lake with swimming and boating is only 10 minutes drive away (boats available during July and August). Visit the many 'perched villages' of the Alpes Maritimes, the lavender fields of the plateau de Valensole, or for the more adventurous a trip to Monte Carlo or the large Italian markets on the coast at Ventimiglia or San Remo.
