Villa | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 6
Casa Mira is a modern open plan stone house with a private pool nestled in the countryside. This charming property is ideally situated just outside the town of Castellana Grotte, only 7kms to the UNESCO World Heritage town of Alberobello with all its historic Trulli. It is in a great location where you get the best of both worlds, far enough from the madding crowd but at the same time it is centrally and conveniently located in close proximity to town, beach and key tourist attractions.
Casa Mira has two double bedrooms, and a further small twin bedroom. There is one bathroom with shower. And the open plan living room has the added advantage of air conditioning. This air conditioning is sufficient to cool the house during the day. Facitilites include a Tv and DVD player. The house has dining for six people and the open plan kitchen has all the modern amenities needed to make your stay comfortable.
The double doors from the living area opens out on to a shaded al fresco eating area for 6 people with an outdoor barbecue and preparation area. There is also a comfortable seating area to relax and take an apertivi.
The 10mx5m private pool is surrounded by the rural countryside and is a peaceful location to relax and unwind . The pool is family friendly as it incorporates a small children’s pool. For sun lovers there are plenty of sun loungers for you to soak up the sun, but for those who prefer a little shade there is a delightful wood gazebo with a sitting area ideal relaxation area by the swimming pool with extensive views of the surrounding area with fruit trees.
Casa Mira is perfect for both couples and families with small children and for those wanting a self catering property with their own private pool. We would like to point out that whilst the pool is child friendly it is not gated.

The Puglia/Molise region
Puglia, or Apulia as it is also known, is an undiscovered region in Southern Italy in the heel of Italy's boot, rich in heritage and culture with picturesque historical towns, castles, churches and architectural masterpieces, breathtaking scenery, beautiful coastlines, traditional food, wines and olive oils.
Puglia has a wonderful climate. The hilltop towns in the Valle d Itria (South of Italy) always enjoy a breeze, even in the hottest months of the year and the humidity is generally minimal. It is a lovely dry heat that warms your very bones, either whilst sitting in a piazza enjoying an ice cream, or on the beach soaking up some rays before taking a dip in the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. Rainfall is scarce and generally concentrated in the winter months. Since there are no mountains in Puglia, the temperature is fairly constant from the coast to the inland areas. Clement weather in the autumn often permits swimming in the sea late into October.
Castellana Grotte is a little country town famous for its caves or "grotte" after which the town is named. As the caves are on the edge of town, in high season Castellana is not packed with day trippers. The town of Castellana stands on a hilltop overlooking sweeping plains and vineyards. Its oldest street was built during the 17th century so you'll be able to stroll past the ornately frescoed Palazzo Longo and enjoy the fascinating little shops and bustling restaurants. Ancient churches, picture postcard piazzas and clock towers add to the charm. The caves are open year-round and offer an interesting day out for all ages, especially if the weather is less than perfect. One of the largest cave complexes in Europe, it contains a fascinating variety of rock formations, culminating in the breathtaking “Grotta Bianca” or “White Cave”. Entrance is with a tour guide only and visits last about 2 hours.
