About the home

A lovely recently extended and refurbished Trullo and Lamia in a quiet rural location only 5 minutes drive to the small town of Castellana Grotte. It has been our family holiday home for over 8 years and is now available for rent. It is ideal for families, with 4 bedrooms 2 double, 1 twin and 1 single, and 3 bathrooms: 2 en suite and 1 with bath. The new kitchen is well equipped with oven/hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine and opens out onto a shady patio. It has a cosy sitting room with 2 sofas (1 is a sofa bed if needed) . There is a storeroom for suitcases and outdoor equipment. The fabulous large enclosed private pool with sole use, is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and cherry orchards.

The historic towns of Conversano and Putignano are within easy reach and the Trulli is only 35 mins from the sea , where the coastal towns of Polignano a Mare and Monopoli can be found and many beaches are located. it. It is close to a number of wonderful attractions such as the ancient town of Conversano, the UNESCO world heritage site of Alberobello, with its famous Trulli , and the hilltop towns of Locorotondo, Martina Franca, Cisternino, and the White City of Ostuni. Further afield are nature reserves, the baroque town of Lecce and the World Heritage Site of Matera.

Puglia is full of charm, here you will find few tourists and small, historical centres full of cobbled streets, whitewashed buildings and pretty balconies. Puglia is a land of flavours and fragrances - regional breads, pastas and dishes made from local ingredients.

The Puglia/Molise region

Puglia is full of charm, here you will find few tourists and small, historical centres full of cobbled streets, whitewashed buildings and pretty balconies. So whether you just want to chill out at the beach, visit amazing baroque churches and towns such as Lecce, wander around the historico centro of old coastal and hilltop towns or simply enjoy a leisurely lunch Puglia is the place to be.

By Plane: from the UK there are daily flights from London Stanstead to Bari Palese airport (www.seap-puglia.it), which is about 50 km away from Castellana Grotte, or Brindisi airport which is about 55 km away., on alternate days with Ryanair.

British Airways fly three times a week from April until the end of October from London Gatwick.
A number of airlines fly from London Heathrow via Milan or Rome

- Nearest railway station is Castellana Grotte (www.trenitalia.it) which is about 3 km from the Trulli. Trains come from every major towns of Italy. Regional trains are each hour.

“This place is a real gem - very comfortable, great pool, spotlessly clean.” We stayed here for 5 days and all felt very at home here. We were a party of seven adults and one baby. Plenty of room. Nicely furnished and very well cared for. All the gadgets worked. The pool was great and the outside area was a great place to relax, eat al fresco and generally chill out. It's down a narrow lane with rough stone walls either side so watch out when you drive up to it. Take a sat nav with you and fix your position when you get there. It's hard to find when you are unfamiliar with it.

“Unusual, pretty, impressive” We decided to meet the Southen Italy. It was the right to try the Trullo - it is so traditional in this region! Trullo Carlotta is very comfortable, modern and has all the necessary inside. We are parents with 4 children. Children like the swiming pool very much. We were alone in big olive garden. No noise and no close neighbors. There are a lot of entertainment not far from accomodation - the dino parc (for small children) 3 km and the caves 7 km. The town of trullo Alberobello and the safari Zoo about 20 km. Beautifull beaches with blue flags from 10 to 20 km. Very responsive and always ready to help Alex and Julia - they have the key from the house. I would like to come back sometimes in the future!

Unforeseen costs could be extra cleaning or laundry costs if the Trulli and linen is not left in a reasonable condition and extra costs are incurred as a result.

•Winter bookings. From the 1st October and until the 30th April there will be a surcharge for heating costs which will be discussed at the time of booking.

A mid stay clean or laundry wash can be arranged but will incur an additional cost

•We rent from Saturday to Saturday but we are happy to be flexible over changeover days and length of stays during the winter.

The pool is usually open from the middle of May until the end of September
