About the home

Agriturismo Le Docce is situated in a wonderful part of Tuscany, called Valdelsa, right at the centre of an ideal triangle with Florence, Pisa and Siena at its vertices, all the three of them lying just a 30 minute drive away.
Valdelsa is a region particularly rich in history, art and culinary traditions, whose main towns are San Gimignano, Certaldo, Volterra and San Miniato.

During your stay, you can relax, read, listen to music and swim in the wonderful swimming pool or just forget the hectic city life in the utmost peace.

We have been a family of farmers for four generations and we are therefore proud to let you taste the wine and extra-virgin olive oil that we produce.

The beautiful 7x14 metre external swimming pool with Roman steps at the top of the hill is perfectly integrated in the spectacular natural context and gives full views of the unique surrounding landscape. The stone solarium terrace around the pool is furnished with sun loungers and sunshades.

The Tuscany / Firenze Province region

Due to its history is one of the Italian regions with the oldest and defined identity.
The Tuscan region is mostly hilly. From the climatic point of view, Tuscany has characteristics different from area to area, but generally has a fairly mild climate.

The protected areas cover nearly 10% of the region, and includes three national parks. Tuscany is known worldwide for its great wealth of monuments and works of art, famous throughout the world are the cities of Florence, Pisa, Siena and, though less known Arezzo, Lucca.

Valdelsa is a region particularly rich in history, art and culinary traditions, whose main towns are San Gimignano (15 km), Certaldo (7 km), Volterra (km 28) and San Miniato (17 km).

The Castelfiorentino area

Castelfiorentino is located in Val d'Elsa, the territory is extended mainly on the valley with hills.
Castelfiorentino is a mere 5 minute drive or bike ride away from the farm. In Castelfiorentino you will find cafés, restaurants, supermarkets, a street market, banks, chemists', a post office, a hospital, shoe and clothes shops, food shops and so on.

A very suggestive feast takes place on 1 February, the day of Saint Verdiana (the patron saint of Castelfiorentino). On the occasion of the procession, numerous market stalls are placed along the streets of Castelfiorentino.

“In/Canti & Banchi” is certainly one of the most important events in Castelfiorentino. Taking place every year in the fourth week of May, In/Canti & Banchi involves the whole town and sets off the urban scenery with original and spectacular performances. Story-tellers and musicians invite people to a trip in their magic world. In May people like making whoopee in the squares, in the streets and in the most secret corners of this town at the gates of the Chianti region, where the In/Canti & Banchi Festival brings the ancient propitiatory feasts to mind, when people sang stornelli in the courtyards.

By car:
Coming from the A1 motorway (Milan-Rome):
Exit at Firenze Scandicci, drive along the short slip road and take the SCG Firenze-Pisa-Livorno towards Pisa. Exit at Empoli Ovest and drive towards Ponte a Elsa. Follow the signposts towards Castelfiorentino. Proceed on the SS429 up to kilometre 64; drive on for about 600 metres and then turn left at a small signpost indicating kilometre 63/IV. Drive on the unsurfaced road “Sala” for about 1.5 kilometres, then at the junction turn right in via Lorenzoni. Agriturismo Le Docce is 200 metres ahead of you.

Coming from the A12 motorway (Genua-Livorno):
Coming from south, exit at Collesalvetti, drive along the short slip road and take the SCG Firenze-Pisa-Livorno.
Coming from north, exit at Pisa Centro, drive along the short slip road and take the SCG Firenze-Pisa-Livorno. Once you are on the SCG Firenze-Pisa-Livorno, exit at Empoli Ovest and drive towards Ponte a Elsa. Follow the signposts towards Castelfiorentino. Proceed on the SS429 up to kilometre 64; drive on for about 600 metres and then turn left at a small signpost indicating kilometre 63/IV. Drive on the unsurfaced road “Sala” for about 1.5 kilometres, then at the junction turn right in via Lorenzoni. Agriturismo Le Docce is 200 metres ahead of you.

Coming from the Firenze-Siena expressway:
Exit at Poggibonsi Nord and follow the signposts towards Empoli. Take the SS429 towards Castelfiorentino. At the roundabout just outside the town, follow the signpost towards Empoli; then proceed on the ringway, at the end of which take the SS429 again and drive on for a few metres.
At a small signpost indicating kilometre 63/IV, turn right and proceed on the unsurfaced road “Sala” for about 1.5 kilometres, then at the junction turn right in via Lorenzoni. Agriturismo Le Docce is 200 metres ahead of you.

By train:
Trains from Florence, Pisa and Siena arrive at Castelfiorentino railway station. Take a taxi to reach Agriturismo Le Docce, which is 1.5 kilometres from the railway station.

By plane:
From Pisa: at Galileo Galilei airport take a train to Florence and get off in Empoli or take a train to Siena and get off in Castelfiorentino.
Alternatively you can rent a car.

From Florence: at Amerigo Vespucci airport take the shuttle to Santa Maria Novella railway station and then a train to Siena and get off in Castelfiorentino.
Alternatively you can rent a car.
