Villa | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 8
Villa Casole d'Elsa is the perfect location from which to enjoy all that the famous region of Tuscany has to offer. Immersed in wonderful verdant countryside with fine views of rolling hills all around yet all of Tuscanys lovely art cities, pretty villages and many historical sights are all within easy driving distance.
It's a joy to just lazily relax around the lovely swimming pool which has a hydromassage corner, or take a stroll along the country lanes savouring the sights and sounds of the countryside. The villa is just over 2 kms from the gorgeous hill town of Casole d'Elsa which is really pretty and has a good selection of facilities including shops, supermarket and bank as well as lovely restaurants. There are many more restaurants to try within easy driving distance from the villa.
The local shops have wonderful local produce as do the weekly markets in Casole and nearby towns. There is a barbeque in the grounds of the villa, perfect for grilling meats in true Tuscan style, and you can dine al fresco on the patio in the garden or on one of the large first floor terraces of the villa.
The villa itself is perfect for two families or a group of friends. One half of a country house, the villa is actually two apartments on two floors, interconnected by the first floor or via the garden. On the ground floor is a living room with kitchen/ dining area, settee and fireplace and a shower room. Steps leads to the upper floor and the first two bedrooms and a further shower room. A connecting door leads to the second apartment where there is a further living area with kitchen, two more bedrooms and two shower rooms, as well as two large terraces.
The villa is therefore perfect for relaxing, cooking and eating together, and you have the benefit of two kitchens and two living areas, four bedrooms and four shower rooms, yet being interconnecting that little bit of privacy can be retained. The furnishings of the villa are pretty and in keeping with Tuscan country style. The patio, garden and terraces are lovely spots to relax and dine al fresco, and having your own pool a few steps away in the well kept grounds is certainly a great plus. In the other side of the house resides a local family, they have the same entrance gate. They are friendly but will not disturb your privacy, they may on rare occasions use the swimming pool. The grounds of the villa are fully enclosed with the entrance by electric gate and there is parking.

The Tuscany region
Tuscany is a region rich in history and with many attractions for all. The art cities of Florence and Siena are wonderful places to visit with musems monuments and beautiful churches on every corner, or just admire the architecture whilst enjoying a refreshing gelato ice cream, or sip a frothy cappuccino in the shell shaped Piazza del Campo in Siena. San Gimignano with its medieval towers on the skyline is well worth a visit as are many of the lovely hill top towns of the region.
Beautiful countryside is all around you and a trip into the Chianti area is definately not to be missed. There are many vineyards to visit and wine to be tasted.
The area south of Siena famous for its rolling clay hills, and cypress tree lined lanes is also within easy reach.
A little further afield is Pisa with its leaning tower, the lovely walled town of Lucca and even the coast is only little more than an hour away if you fancy a day by the sea.
The food of course is excellent, with a great selection of restaurants in the area. Lots of choice at the shops and supermarkets and the weekly local markets held in each town offer local produce and all types of articles including clothes, food and shoes.
Casole d'Elsa is a gem of a Tuscan hill town, one of the prettiest and well kept in the area. The winding cobbled streets are colourfully lined with pretty flower pots and there are lovely views of the countrysdie all around. The town has always been popular with artisits and craftsmen and there are shops selling ceramics and paintings. In the summer months there are often art exhibitions, and in July the town holds their own version of the Palio horserace and there are many festivities.
There are a good selection of amenties in the town and some wonderful restaurants and eateries both in the town itself and the immediate surrounding area.
