"Total rest and relaxation"
We stayed in this lovely apartment for 2 weeks this summer and the pictures are a really good reflection of the accommodation.Mafalda, the manager of the property met us and told us everything we needed to know. She very kindly had done a little shop for us so that we did not have to rush out to find a supermarket.
The apartment is very spacious and even though there were 4 of us we didn't feel that we were cramped. The bedrooms are big and beautifully furnished in a traditional style. They are in loft space so you do have to stoop at times but you quickly get used to that. The beds were very comfortable. The lounge area was fantastic and modern with comfortable seating and a flat screen television. That was brilliant because we were able to watch the Olympics on BBC 1.The kitchen is small but has everything you could possibly want, including an oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The dining area was lovely and we ate in a couple of times as it does get very very windy up above the coast. The terrace is an absolute delight, big and sunny but with shade as well which was very welcome. There is also a table and chairs for dining and 2 sun loungers.
There are 2 bathrooms. There is a shower room with a toilet and washbasin and another bathroom next to the bedrooms with a basin, toilet, bidet and shower over the bath but no taps to fill the bath. This had to be done by filling it with the shower. This bathroom is in the loft space and has a sloping ceiling.Again,I bumped my head a few times but it was no big deal. The only problem was that the plumbing was a bit hit and miss. The water went from hot to cold without warning.
The apartment also has free wifi which was a real bonus.I took my laptop and used it regularly to keep in touch with family.
The apartment is literally just 300 metres from the motorway exit which might put some people off but honestly there was no noise at all which would be the case if you were staying in the centre of Cascais. In fact I think its position is ideal especially if you want to get out in the car and visit other parts of the area.A car is advisable.
Cascais is a five minute drive away and is really lovely.Lots of restaurants and things to do with a brilliant supermarket and bakery. The coast is lovely but very windy and the Atlantic waters are freezing, even in the height of summer.
Would we recommend this apartment ? Absolutely. We had a lovely time. The owners live below and are very kind people. The grounds of the Quinta are beautiful and Mafalda is a truly fantastic lady. Many thanks.
