The Costa de Lisboa/Lisbon region
Lisbon & Lisbon Coast is an all-year-round destination with its mild winters and hot summers. Lisbon is a cosmopolitan city with many interesting places to visit, and with excellent restaurants, cafes and shopping to cater for all tastes and budgets. The food of Portugal, is in fact, one of its best assets where variety and quality equal to none.
Attractions in Lisbon include Belem with its monuments and monasteries; the Old part of Lisbon( Alfama, Bairro Alto) with its quaint and cobbled streets, bars, shops and restaurants or if you like the nightlife there is and extensive and vibrant area full of restaurants, bars and discos in the river bank in Docas.
In June the Festival of St Anthony is very popular and a real cultural affair with typical portuguese food, song and dance to be enjoyed by locals and tourists alike.
Cascais / Costa da Guia area
Cascais is a quaint fishing village with glorious summers lasting from early May until October. Cascais basks in sunshine for much of the year. Average temperatures in the summer are around the 30˚C mark, ideal for beaches, yet not too hot to play golf or enjoy the rich and cultural heritage of Cascais.
The Cascais Marina with its bars, restaurants and sport events is a fairly new attraction and within walking distance from the apartment. Boca do Inferno (also within walking distance) is a coastal and superb natural environment with breathtaking views of the sea. There are restaurants and a daily craft fair (in the summer) on site.
The town of Sintra is a close-by World Heritage Site with several monuments and Palaces and well worth a day's visit.
The town of Estoril is also nearby and apart from beaches, a craft fair in the summer is also famous for its casino.
