The independent, spacious garden apartment was modernised in 2008. The main living/dining area is some 35 sq mtrs, there are 2 bedrooms - a double bedroom and a single bedroom, with space for an extra 'fold-down' bed if required - 4th person.

There is a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom.

Internet facilities are available at the apartment, please check with the owner.

The apartment looks on to the garden and has direct access to the swimming pool , 9.5 x 5 metres (31 x 16 ft), exclusive for guests.

The apartment is fully furnished for up to 4 people.

It is not considered suitable for families with children under 6 and with those who cannot swim well due to the unprotected swimming pool.

Only a short walk to the beaches, parks, marina and yacht club, shops, good bars and many restaurants and to the vibrant town centre of Cascais - the train station, Cascais-Estoril-Lisbon (32 mins), is an easy 10 min walk. A car is not necessary!

It's a few minutes walk into the centre of Cascais - to the shops & restaurants, beaches, marina and parks.

The garden apartment has its' own separate entrance opening into a large living/dining room, some 35 sq mts.

It is fully furnished and has linen, crockery etc for an occupancy of 4 persons. Beach/pool towels are not provided.

The apartment looks on to a neat & tidy garden and a secluded swimming pool (10 x 4.5 mts).

There are two bedrooms - a double bedroom with built-in wardrobe and a single bedroom with wardrobe. If required there is space for a 'fold-down' bed in the single room - 100€ supplement.

The kitchen is fully equipped.

The bathroom has a shower cabinet, washbasin and wc.

If required there are free-standing heaters and fans.

The Costa de Lisboa/Lisbon region

The Cascais/Estoril coast has a wonderful climate and is a superb natural environment.

In historical times Cascais was the first town that sailors would see as they approached the Tagus estuary and their last glimpse of Portugal as they sailed away into the Atlantic to all corners of the earth. Cascais is still an active fishing town, it has glorious beaches, excellent restaurants & shops and a vibrant nightlife.

Estoril, once popular with the Royalty of Europe and one of the 'espionage centres of the second world war', is an easy 20 min walk along the coast or a 3 min train ride away. Sintra, with it's palaces and castles - a World Heritage Site - is only 20mins away.

With glorious summers lasting from early May until October Cascais basks in sunshine for much of the year. Average temperatures in the summer are around the 30°C mark, ideal for beaches, yet not too hot to play golf or enjoy the rich and cultural heritage of Cascais

Cascais

Cascais, once a tiny fishing village, is now a thriving tourist resort with its own yachting marina. There's still a working fishing fleet based in Cascais Bay and fish is still auctioned off to the hotels and restaurants every morning. The historic old town is full of charm and reminiscent of the quaint little fishing village of a bygone era.

The nearest beaches in the Bay of Cascais are within easy walking distance.

A few mins drive away is the magnificent, spectacular Guincho coastline, with sandy beaches and rocky coves.

Nearest shop is 50 mts away & there's an excellent, local restaurant some 200 mts from the apartment. The main shops are just a few mins walk into Cascais. Should you have a car, parking in the road is always available and safe.

Public transport in Cascais is very good - and cheap! Bicycles are available in the town - free! You just need to leave some identification.

There are 8 excellent golf courses within a 20 min drive from Cascais - see local tourism board web-site: www.estorilcoast.com. The nearest sandy beach in the Bay of Cascais is just a few minutes walk from the house, other beaches on the Cascais/Estoril coast are within easy walking distance. A few mins drive away is the magnificent, spectacular Guincho coastline, with rocky coves and sandy beaches - a surfers' paradise & regularly hosts the world windsurf championships .

"Beautiful, quiet and well-located apartment"

A really lovely week in a great ground floor apartment with sole use of a fabulous pool. No more than a 10 minute walk into the pretty old town, but far enough away to be blissfully tranquil. David and Teresa were professional and friendly, with useful tips and local knowledge, and helpfully also arranged a driver for our transfer back to Lisbon. The family dog was a gentle old lady who was joined temporarily by other well-behaved, delightful canines. We were very happy to have them around and enjoyed their company, but that was entirely our choice. We are already looking forward to a return trip.

Our family dog, a black labrador, is a quiet 'old lady' who spends most of the day asleep! She has her own pool and will not intrude - however if any guests are wary of dogs she will live in the house - not a problem, and never has been!

"Haven of tranquility"

David and Teresa were both charming but we hardly knew they were living in the same place and gave us almost total privacy. Very clean pool - so welcome in 33 degreees. Bedrooms stayed very cool despite of the heat and beds comfy too. David recommended several restaurants, all of which were excellent. Sintra a must visit but go to the tourist office first so you don't miss out on what is there. Take the slow bus there, express bus back. Would recommend to friends without hesitation but the Sutcliffes do have a dog so if you are allergic it might be a problem.

Concerning our family dog - she's a 7 year old black lab, completely house trained, loves to play and wouldn't hurt a fly!!
If guests wish she will spend most of the day indoors and so will not disturb them in garden and around the pool - she isn't allowed in the pool & anyway she has her own pool!!

"Excellent, airy, spacious, well equipped apartment with good pool"

The photos & description of this apartment did not do it full justice - it was much better than we expected. The pool pictured is the kids' one, there is no picture of the much bigger adults ' pull (over 10 metres long with diving board) surrounded by lovely, mature gardens. The apartment had a couple of facilities not mentioned in the description - hair dryer and flat screen TV in master bedroom. The furniture & beds were comfortable and the kitchen is very well equipped. It is well situated in a quiet neighbourhood (hard to find for our taxi driver though) and a max 15 minute walk in to town/shops. Would definitely go again.

"A well equipped, good sized garden apartment, walking distance to town with a lovely pool and friendly, helpful owners."

The apartment is a short 10 min walk into the heart of Cascais with all its restaurants and nightlife. The apartment is well equipped and you have sole use of the pool whilst renting. The garden and pool are kept immaculately by the owners. The owners are helpful, knowledgeable and respect your privacy. We visited with 2 children aged 11 and 13 who loved the pool and the lilos. This is the second time we have stayed, the first time being in 2009, and I am sure we will visit again.

"Great Location, Superb Holiday... Thank You...!!"

We were three adults...my wife & I plus a friend. The apartment was exactly as described on the website... We were quite delighted with it and with the superb pool and facilities. The owners could not have been more friendly, supportive and professional, whilst allowing us the space and time to thoroughly enjoy our holiday. The apartment is within a few minutes walk of the centre of Cascais and very walkable distance to the beach. We would unhesitatingly recommend this apartment as a most pleasant venue in which to stay, and to thoroughly enjoy the many splendid aspects of Cascais.

"Fabulous apartment, pool and location"

Lovely apartment and pool. Warmly welcomed by David who had arranged transport for us from and to the airport. Great location with an easy walk into Cascais with bars and restaurants in abundance. Train station and buses to all the places of interest nearby - Lisbon, Belem, Guincho and Sintra. A great holiday.
