Home description

Bougainville is a self catering house in this special location by the sea front only 8KM from the centre of Lisbon and Cascais. The house shares beautiful grounds with another unit, and we are able to cater to groups of up to 18 people. Bougainville house has 4 bedrooms, and sleeps up to 10 people.

Bouganville house is an ideal haven for a holiday with as little or as much sightseeing as you wish. In a privileged residential area, there have splendid views of the point where the river Tagus meets the Atlantic ocean; the house offers secure accommodation with outside space.

Guests looking for somewhere untouched by tourism will find a haven, equally suitable for romantic and family holidays.

The Costa de Lisboa/Lisbon region

Costa de Lisboa has some of the best beaches in the whole of Europe and is the perfect place to come and relax. As the capital of Portugal is in this region you can expect a wealth of of cultural activities such as galleries and good eateries serving the best of local and international food. Away from the capital you can expect miles of pristine beaches with stunning views of the Atlantic ocean as well as quaint villages to explore.


Cascais / Paco de Arcos area

Beaches
The sandy beaches of Paço de Arcos and Caxias are 15 minutes walking distance. Cascais and Estoril beaches can be reached in 15 minutes by local train or car. Further afield Guincho, praia das Macas, praia da Adraga and many other beaches are an easy car drive.

The charming old centre of Paço de Arcos is an easy stroll away, and offers numerous restaurants in a beautiful setting. Local shops are 5 minutes away and the Oeiras Marina with its beautiful boats, shops and restaurants is close.

A futuristic suspended train (SATU) joins Paço de Arcos to a large shopping centre "Oeiras Park" for the serious shopper and a cinema complex with films in English. Access to Lisbon, Cascais and Sintra is easy and quick, making this the ideal base to explore the whole area.

Golf Details
There are six courses within a 16 km (10 mile) range, with plenty to offer beginner and advanced players. Please ask us for details on a discounted Golf pass.

Above the sea front linking Lisbon and Cascais, the property is easily accessed by road and public transport. The airport is 12km away. Lisbon city centre is 10km, easily reached in 15 minutes by car or by train along the river Tagus.

Fast road access means both Lisbon and Cascais are 15 minutes away.

The small coastal train station of Paco de Arcos is 5 minutes walk, taking you to central Lisbon in one direction, and Cascais in the other.

Public transport is so convenient and reliable that guests can opt for a car free holiday.

The large living room accommodates 10 people comfortably, and opens up to the amazing terrace with its beautiful mature bougainvillea. Part of the living room can be completely closed off to form a bedroom. The large kitchen is fully equipped. The 4 bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and there are 3 bathrooms.

"We had a wonderful stay in Paco de Arcos. Maria could not have been more hospitable. The apartment was clean on arrival. The view from the apartment is fabulous particularly of the Tagus bridge at night from the pool area. The town of Paco de Arcos is within a 10 minute walk and has a good choice of restaurants and also a beach. Access to Lisbon, Estoril and Cascais is available by train (station 5 minute walk from apartment), approx. 20 minute trip. We all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday there and will definitely return for a longer stay next time!"
