The Costa de Lisboa/Lisbon region
Expect Cascais climate, influenced by the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, to be temperate, with plenty of sunshine even in the winter. The average summer temperature is 70 degrees F; winter is 50 degrees F. Numerous beaches populate the coast, Sintra filled will large Palace and beautiful walks, Lisbon also filled with historical sites as well as Belem, a must try is the famous pastry shop in Belem. "Pastis De Belem" Custardy little tarts. Their origin are at this shop near the Cathedral and know all over the world. There will be brochures at the apartment for you to assist in your search.
Cascais area
Sintra Castle and Palaces a short drive away. Cascais town Quaint, romantic, and great food !! Cascais Shopping... near drive to large shopping centre. Lisbon and Lisbon metro filled with great historical sites, metro will take you right to Colombo Shopping Mall Within easy reach of Cascais is the famous beach at Guincho with its high waves that attract windsurfers from all around the world as having some of the best rollers in Europe. The next town to the east of Cascais is the resort town of Estoril with its aristocratic palaces and mansions and the popular Casino. To the north and within easy reach is the romantic and fascinating town of Sintra made initially known to foreigners by Lord Byron.

Further details indoors: Nice Location and town to visit, Cascais is very historic and home to many sites, very central to surrounding historical locations like Sintra, Estoril, Lisbon ( 20 min train ride), Gincho beaches ( and these all are a must see ! ...the recommended time to see most ..well can be done quickly in a week but really best is 2 weeks as there is much to see other than just great beaches ! ....oh and make sure you try the Piri Piri chicken down in Cascais as well as Sardines grilled , and clams and shrimp !! Well ok maybe you need longer time to enjoy everything !!
