Picturesque Apt. heart Cascais
Apartment | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 6
This apartment looks like a Dollhouse. Very cozy, decorated with grace and good taste, doing justice to the region's history of fishermen and mariners that give the name to this street.
These narrow streets one hosted the houses of the fishermen who went out every day for their daily chore that is still practiced in this village.

As we enter into a fresh and cozy living room with a sofa bed (which can sleep two extra guests), an LCD TV and DVD player, and a column for i-pod. On the wall; a frame does not let us forget the discoveries of mariners, marked on an ancient map outlining their routes.
A dining table for four people that can open for two extra guests completes the ambiance of this space.
A very cozy bedroom with twin beds connected to another room with a double bed; ideal for a family with children or a group of friends. The rooms have simple décor, good light and both have windows. The thick walls of these ancient houses protect you from the summer heat making the room temperature cool and shaded during the hot summer days.
The bathroom that serves the two rooms has a bathtub and shower as well as a hairdryer and a set of towels for each guest.
The kitchen is fully equipped with hob and oven, fridge with freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, toaster and electric kettle.

The Costa de Lisboa/Lisbon region
The Atlantic resorts of Estoril and Cascais - which along with nearby Sintra make up Portugal's so-called 'Golden Triangle' is an excellent base for visitors to Portugal.
Connected to Lisbon by the scenic seaside road called the 'Marginal', Cascais, Estoril and Oeiras are considered the more affluent suburbs of Lisbon, sporting their own beaches and coastal walkway. A short 25 km drive along the A5 motorway also links these areas to the center of Lisbon and its international airport in less than 30 minutes.
Cascais, a picturesque former fishermen's village, and nearby Estoril were used as a summer retreat by the nobility for centuries. They were also the havens of many kings and aristocrats exiled during the 20th century.
The region is considered as the Portuguese Riviera, and is also occasionally the coast of two Springs as the weather in Autumn is usually similar to that which occurs in Spring. This particularity allows for nature to bloom once more before entering a mild winter.
The very unique climate combined with a large offer in terms of recreation, sports, accommodation and meeting resources attract many international events all year round.
You can easily head to Cascais by car through the Marginal that connects Lisbon / Cascais by the sea or using public transportation by train from Lisbon / Cais-do-Sodré to Cascais.
Cascais it has been one of the most famous seaside resorts of Europe to spend summer and rediscover the pleasure of visiting this old fishermen's village, where in 1870 the Citadel accommodated Royalty and the court had summer palaces and Manor houses to relax and enjoy at the seaside promenade.
Cascais is famed for its traditional black and white calçada wave-patterned pavements, fine seafood restaurants and lively seafront street cafes. The main bar and restaurant strip is centered on the pedestrian Rua Frederico Arouca and the more raucous Largo Luis de Camoes. There's a colorful market every Wednesday on Rua do Mercado, an early morning fish market between Praia da Ribeira and Praia da Rainha.
The Parque Marechal Carmona is a pleasant open space containing the nineteenth century stately home of Irishman Jorge O'Neill - the Museu Condes de Castro Guimarães. Also worth a visit is the Museu do Mar (sea museum) which charts the area's connections with the sea.
The area's main beaches lie between Estoril and Cascais or you can trek out to wind surfers' paradise at Praia do Guincho - a large but unshadow and somewhat dramatic stretch of fine beach 6km west of Cascais, which has played host to the World Surfing Championships. Cascais big bash is the Festas do Mar in August with a procession of colorful fishing boats. There's a jazz festival in July, the Cooljazz Festival and summer fireworks on Saturday evenings.
