The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
The Costa del Sol is one of the most famous coastal areas in the world. Its very special landscape is the result of its location along the shore of the Mediterranean, protected from the northern winds by the Sierra Blanca mountain range proving it with almost 320 days of sunshine every year. There are 26km of beaches noteworthy for their fine golden sand washed by the clear, blue waters of the Mediterranean.
Marbella is a must. The town never sleeps, daytime trips can include visiting the wonderful parks, the fantastic shops, the museums and the marinas. Only 3km away is the Puerto de la Duquesa with unspoilt breathtaking scenery, traditional Spanish architecture and modern developments is becoming one of the great marinas of the Costa del Sol. Rhonda a beautiful town high up in the mountains, Mijas just 8km inland is set amongst the pine groves on the edge of the Sierra de Kijas mountains.
