Set in the beautiful Andalusian style development of Casares del Sol, this ground floor apartment is located right beside the lovely communal gardens with large swimming pools and a separate children's pool, making it ideal for a family holiday. The lounge area is well furnished with quality furniture and leads out to a terrace, furnished with a table and chairs to enable you to dine al fresco while enjoying the view to the Mediterranean Sea. This lovely apartment would suit a larger family or friends holidaying together. Well situated for exploring the beautiful white villages or the many beaches of the area. The Property is a short walk down the hill to the lovely Casares bay beach with its own lively beach bar with great food.

There is plenty to do nearby with the old village of Casares and the castle ruins at the top of the hill.

You can take a trip to Gibraltar, whale and dolphin watching is particularly popular or" travel back in time" with a visit to Morroco, both can be done in a day.

The Andalucia region

Spain's `sunshine coast' is one of Europe's favourite holiday destinations. With an average of 320 days of blue sky annually, it is perfect as a summer holiday or as a winter destination for golfers, walkers and those wishing to pursue out -door activities. Families are particularly well catered for, with myriad attractions, restaurants and of course miles of beaches. Children are not just tolerated but welcomed by the friendly Spanish people.

Despite the march of development, the area still has the ambience of Andalucía, the most `Spanish' of all regions and you do not have to venture far from your holiday home to encounter local ferias, fiestas and romerias - the scent of Jasmine is in the air, inexpensive wine is flowing freely- come and enjoy!

Casares

To say that Casares is beautiful is an understatement. Most of the white villages are beautiful but there is something very special about the sight of Casares that causes the visitor to park the car and simply stare or take a photo.

There are the sugar cubes, piled precariously high and just nudging the battlements of an Arab castle. It is hard to believe that this enchanting, typical village is only nine miles from the hustle and bustle of the coast and somehow succeeded in avoiding the coach tour circuit.

The main fair (Feria) of Casares takes place during the first weekend in August. The day of the patron saint, the Virgen del Rosario, is celebrated in the first week in September, and in the middle of this month too is the Feria del Cristo. The most important of the Romerias takes place the last saturday in May.

There are many unspoiled beaches and coves in the area to be discovered or if you are looking for something more sophisticated, the fantastic top class Golf courses and Polo fields of Sotogrande are a short drive away.

There are lovely views to Gibraltar from this area and if you have never visited "the rock" it is less than half an hours drive.You can see the Barbary Apes and a great view from the cable car , to the high sierras of Spain and across the straits of Gibraltar to the mountains of Africa. For the adventurous the ferry to Morrocco is only 30 mins by car, springtime is especially recommended for a taste of North Africa.

"Fantastic holiday"

The holiday apartment was extremely clean with wonderful views down to the sea and of the gardens surrounding it. The main lounge/diner was light and spacious and kept wonderfully cool with air conditioning.

It was about a 15 minute walk down to the beach which had a great restaurant overlooking the sea. The area had plenty of supermarkets for self catering and some fantastic restaurants locally.

The apartment lacks a BBQ but we bought a small one for using on the patio.
