The Costa del Sol region
Long a favourite destination, the Costa del Sol offers clean beaches and unbeatable sunshine. Torremolinos attracts a younger crowd, with sweeping beaches, shopping centres and thriving discos. Fuengirola is more family-friendly. There are plenty of watersports on offer, and pedal-boats for the family to enjoy. Malaga offers more relaxed attractions such as Picasso’s birthplace and some of the best fish and seafood restaurants in the region, it also has a lively nightlife. Nerja boasts quieter coves within walking distance of its busier beaches. The town’s main attraction is the Cuevas de Nerja, a series of caverns which contain the world’s largest stalactite. Away from the coast lie the prehistoric dolmen caves at Antequera and the magnificent limestone gorge near El Chorr
The Casares / Casares del Sol area
The traditional seaside village of Sabinillas is just a 15 minute walk or 3 minutes in the car, away from the apartment, where there are shops, supermarkets, restaurants, bars and a pharmacy.
Next door to Finca Cortesin (18 hole golf course and 5 stars hotel) where the Volvo masters 2009 was played.
Nearby you can also find Casares Golf course and gardens and Casares Country Club and Casares Don Julio golf course.
The area is ideal for walks and trekking -lots of local routes through rural Spain.
Plenty of lovely restaurants and La Cañada shopping centre on 340 motorway in Marbella.

We stayed here from the 23/7-02/8/12.It was everything we expected and more.There are very useful information files at the apartment so you are well guided on what you can do while you are there.We really liked the pools and gardens.These were well maintained everyday.I would recommend a car for this location .The garage area is under the building and is fantastic as the car is nice a cool when you all get in.The premises are all secure with an outer gated ring design.
We would tend to go to Sabinallas which was our local shopping in the morning ,to collect some fresh supplies (packet ice creams cheap in the supermarkets)and also visit after 7pm along the coast line for extra free children's play activities.Estepona and Duquesa are all within reach.We found that sticking to the A7 avoided the toll charges and were mostly traffic free.Visiting other towns along the way was also fun.We arrived into Malaga Airport as we wanted to visit that end of the coast after four years but I would say Gibraltar would be your best airport for the apartment.
I must add that Francis has been a decent chap from first contact to end.What a pleasure it's been to do business with you.Thank you very much from all of us.

Our family stayed in Francis apartment between 24th June and 7th July, great apartment sleeps 5 but the pull out bed could sleep 2 kids making 6, 2 bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen with double height fridge freezer, oven, dishwasher and washing machine.
The apartment is in a secure gated complex with a swimming pool that is manned daily by a life guard, and an army of gardeners manicure the surrounding gardens. The closest beach is about ½ mile away with ample car parking.
The complex of Casares del sol is about 3miles from the small seaside town of sabinillas which has about 20 bar/restaurants on the seafront and 7 miles from the large spainish resort of Estepona that has everything. I can highly recommend the “Last Resort” bar/restaurant and “Marlows” traditional British fish and chip restaurant. All the major supermarkets are on the main road and easily found.
Great base to explore Marbella, Puerto Banus 20 miles to the north and Gibraltar 20 miles to the south.

I rented this appartment for our daughter, partner and children. It is a very clean and complete appartment with a nice open vieuw on gardens and a big swimmingpool. The location is excellent. Five minutes from the beach and 10 minutes drive to shops and restaurants. Estepona is a lovely very Spanish village. Of course the culture lovers can visit the beautiful white villages and Malaga with its beautiful musea.
