Home description
Monte Carvoeiro is conveniently located on the cliff tops above the former fishing village of Carvoeiro, which boasts an attractive beach and an abundance of restaurants, bars and shops. There are many other wonderful beaches all within a few minutes drive from the resort.
The resort is also within easy reach of many excellent golf courses including the Carvoeiro Golf Resort with its two full 18 hole courses and a purpose built David Leadbetter Golf Academy.
The resort is becoming established as among the best along the entire coastline of the Algarve.
The immediate coastline consists of spectacular cliffs, caves and many beautiful beaches you have to see to believe, all washed by the clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The Algarve lays claim to more hours of sunshine than any other place in Europe and also the most unpolluted climate.
The apartments at Monte Caroeiro are built in traditional Portugues style and have a spacious interior and all have balconies.
Our one bedroom apartment overlooks the swimming pool and is on the first floor with easy access to all the nearby facilities. There is an entrance hall leading to the sitting room. The apartment is fully tiled to keep it cool in the summer.
The sitting room has a dining area, sofa (with double sofa bed), TV (satellite reception) and radio/cassette/cd player, direct line telephone and a safe. There is a traditional decorative fireplace.
The kitchen is full fitted with a range of appliances including a fridge/freezer, washing machine, kettle, juicer, microwave, oven and hob, all crockery and utensils and a coffee machine.
The bathroom bath/shower, washbasin/vanity unit, W.C., bidet and hairdryer.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region
Portugal is the westernmost country of mainland Europe and has oer 800 km of coastline facing the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean.
At the southern tip of Portugal is the Algarve which is a haven of beautiful sandy beaches, sleepy traditional fishing villages, world class golf courses, untouched mountain towns, international marinas and year round sunshine.
For thousands of years it has been a much favoured area, with a colourful history. Once a kingdom in its own right, the Algarve has seen invasions by the Phoenicians, Romans and Moors, been the starting point for great explorations, and now is a wonderful place for you and your family to come and visit.
Carvoeiro / Monte Carvoeiro area
Carvoeiro is a beautiful, small town, especially when viewed from the hills on either side. It is layered with white-washed villas and buildings, which seem to undulate in harmony with the natural rocky landscape. The beach is small but ample and is fringed with seaside cafes and restaurants and still home to local fishermen whose boats complete the picture postcard scene.
Nearby you will find some great golf courses - The Pinta, Gramacho, Vale do Milho and Silves.
The best local beach is probably Praia Vale de Centianes. Not noticeable from the roadside you need to take a car or taxi from Carvoeiro or walk there in about 20 minutes. The taxi drops you by some steps, which wind endlessly down through rocks until you reach an enclave ensconced on all sides by towering rocks. There you can enjoy a secluded beach ideal for sunbathing and in the spring, autumn and winter almost entirely to yourself.
Carvoeiro is a great base to tour the Algarve region and we would recommend a car as the most cost effective way to do this.
A good day trip out is to the nearby historic town of Silves where you can enjoy the Moorish castle perched on a hill at the top of the town next to the church.
Further along the coast is a beautiful town called Lagos which has all manner of attractions including excellent shopping and a large marina crammed with ocean-going yachts. Other popular places to visit, include the windswept hills of Monchique in the interior and Sagres, further along the coast to the West from Carvoeiro is - the most south-westerly point of Continental Europe. There are numerous other beautiful towns, villages and idyllic spots to be discovered in the Algarve.
Monte Carvoeiro is a lovely resort which is owned by a number of private individuals, all who appreciate the unique atmosphere and special nature of the village.
It boasts many fine features including:
1 Excellent family beach holiday. 2 Close to the village of Carvoeiro. 3 Heated Swimming pool. 4 Pool bar and cocktail bar. 5 Restaurants on site to cater for a variety of needs and tastes. 6 20+ Golf courses nearby including Leadbetter Golf Academy. 7 3000 hours of sunshine each year and breathtaking scenery 8 A well stocked Supermarket on site 9 Swimming, sailing and surfing all in easy reach. 10 A well equipped onsite doctor/medical clinic

Guestbook for Monte Carvoeiro Clube
Review: Spent an idyllic week here, larger than average well equipped apartment, lovely grounds, peaceful settings, lovely large pool plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas.restaurants on complex very good, staff behind the desk could not be more helpful and friendly, i just cannot wait to go back to this lovely resort.
Resort gardens and common areas kept very neat & tidy. Staff in reception could not be more helpful. Same goes for maintenance staff who are really on the ball. George in the pool bar is one of the most friendly and welcoming bar owners I have met.
