Home description

Fantastic location ~ A brand new luxury top floor apartment completed in 2007. Located within 100m of the beautiful Carvoeiro beach and within a few minutes walking distance of restaurants, shops and bars. The apartment is furnished and equipped to a very high standard and is fully air-conditioned to ensure your comfort in the summer and warmth in the winter. There is a balcony and a shared roof terrace (Sun loungers and matresses available free of charge on request). The balcony overlooks the village centre and the beach.

There is an internal lift available for your convenience along with secure underground parking. However, there is no need for a car as everything is on your doorstep, including a doctor’s surgery, dentist and chemist. There is a good bus and taxi service, several golf courses nearby as well as a tennis club, gym and horse riding. Please contact us for more information on the resort of Carvoeiro.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region

The Algarve region averages 3000 hours of sunshine each year, more than the Costa Brava, Majorca and the French Riveria. The province is located in the far south of Portugal, bordered by the Atlantic on two sides and by mountains to the east. it stretches from the Spanish border westwards to Cape St.Vincent. 150 miles of Portugal's coast is formed by cliffs overlooking numerous golden sandy beaches.

Places to visit include the mountains of Monchique, Silves Castle and the capital of Portugal, Lisbon, with it's many historical buildings.


Carvoeiro / Central Carvoeiro area

Carvoeiro was a small fishing village, which has a sandy beach (100m from apartment) from which short boat trips can be taken. It has two beautiful golf courses, Pinta and Gramacho within a 5 minute drive. For the children, Zoo Marine, Slide and Splash and Krazy World are within a 10 minutes drive from Carvoeiro. The beautiful cities Lisbon and Sevilla (in Spain) are approx. 2 hours drive away. Lagoa is the nearest working town at 5 min drive away. Ferragudo, Portimao, Silves, Alvor are all within 15 mins drive. There is another beach 200m away which is reached by a flight of steps and is well worth the walk as you will find a quiet and enchanting cove with tranquil waters.

Apart from the many golf courses there is a scuba diving centre, tennis club and gym facilities all within a short drive. It is one of the few places that still retains its scenic appeal. It has the perfect ingredients for a relaxing holiday; children are always welcome in the local restaurants. However it also has a lively selection of night time activities.

GOLF ~ Carvoeiro is an excellent location for golf enthusiasts. There are 2 courses in Carvoeiro, Quinta do Gramacho and Pinta, and there is a 9 hole course on the Vale do Milho estate. Other championship courses are Penina and Palmares which are a 30 minute drive away and Vilamoura 35 minutes drive away. Quinta do Lago and Vale Do Lobo 40 minutes drive away. There is a full set of golf clubs, equipment and bag available for use on request.

MOTOR RACING
For motor racing enthusiasts, the brand new Autódromo Internacional do Algarve located in Escapadinho, in the foothills of the coastal town of Portimão is only 20 minutes drive away. Around 195 million Euros has been allocated to the development of the Autódromo, making it the biggest investment ever in the Algarve.The circuit was opened in 2008 and has already held a round of the 'Superbike World Championship'. As well as the circuit, the project also includes a karting track, a technology park, a luxury five-star hotel, a sports complex and numerous apartments.

SPECIAL INTEREST HOLIDAYS
The Carvoeiro Clube de Tennis is open to non-residents, and The School of Wind Surfing at Praia Grande Ferraguda is just 10 min drive away. Big game fishing/dolphin watching trips can be arranged with the tourist office near the Carvoeiro beach. Horse riding is just outside Lagoa on the N125 road towards Albufeira.

Carvoeiro is a 50 min drive from Faro airport. Budget airlines e.g. Thomsonfly, Monarch, BMIbaby, Flybe, Easy Jet, Jet2 and fly from airports all around the UK with German wings, Hapag Lloyd flying from Germany. Most of these airlines are linked to car hire and transfer facilities though these can easily be booked independently. Car hire is available from Faro airport or within Carvoeiro. It is always advisable to book car hire and transfers in advance. We have a local contact that will provide a taxi service at reasonable rates. We can give advice on these.

There is a balcony with a shared roof terrace. The balcony overlooks the village centre and the beach. Views from the sun terrace mean you can watch the sun rise as you eat the bread from the local bakery, and also enjoy the local rosè wine as the sun sets in the evening. All rooms have metal shutters over double glazed windows/doors.

The lounge room is tastefully furnished with sofa bed that can sleep two small children or one adult. An armchair and coffee table. Dining table and 4 chairs, 26” flat screen TV, DVD, surround sound with Satellite including all BBC and ITV channels. Patio doors lead to balcony with excellent views.The kitchen has everything you would expect and is equipped to cater for up to 6 people. Cooker, hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, iron/ironing board.

There is a Double bedroom with twin beds, large built-in wardrobe, bedside table, reading lamp and chest of draws for additional storage. The bathroom has bath/shower, wc, bidet, glass shelves and vanity unit with built in lighting. There is a Portuguese mobile phone available for receiving international calls, making local calls and for any unforeseen any emergencies. More photgraphs or video clips are available on request.

Access to the apartment from the town square is either by a number of steps at the side of the building or a 5 minute walk with a slight incline. The apartment block has an internal lift from the underground car park to the top floor. There is a security intercom system linked from the main entrance to the phone in the hall for letting guests into the building.

The apartment is ideally suited for a couple. However, it can accommodate a family with no more than two small children. The apartment is locally managed so that any problems can be addressed immediately. Cleaning and change of towels and bedlinen is done on a weekly basis or at changeover. Please note that the apartment is non-smoking.

Terms of payment: A non-refundable 30% deposit is required as confirmation of booking. Balance payable 8 weeks before the holiday start date. A security deposit of £100 is required against damages, refundable on return of keys and with no reported damage to the property. Guests are advised to take adequate insurance cover.
