Villa Quinta do Sobreiros is a large 7 bedroom villa with a clay tennis court and basketball in acres of grounds mostly planted with fruit trees and surrounded in peaceful countryside yet close to some of the best beaches in the Algarve.

Villa Quinta do Sobreiros is a very spacious villa located apprximately 10 minutes by car outside Carvoeiro where many restaurants, bars and shops are located. Carvoeiro´s name is in fact 'Praia do Carvoeiro' which means beach of the Charcoal man. Originally the village was a settlement of only a few houses on the side of a small river flowing down the valley from Lagoa. The people living there were mostly fisherman and charcoaol men.

But now Carvoeiro has been discovered by holiday makers who are seduced by the beauty of the coastline and friendliness of people. Carvoeiro has most shops you would excpect at home. Grocers, Supermarkets, Bakers, Butchers, Chemist, Newsagents, Gift Shops, Postoffice, Banks, Bars and Restaurants.

The Algarve region

Carvoeiro / Praia de Carveiro area

The Villa is located just outside the fishing Village if Carvoeiro where many Restaurants and Bars are located for those long summer evenings with friends. The town and beaches of Armcao De Pera is just 10 minutes away by car towards the coast road.

The picture-postcard village of Carvoeiro lies just off the EN125 main road, midway between Alcantarilha and Lagoa.

Golf
Portugal, and in particular, the Algarve, is renowned for its magnificent Golf Courses which is why it is considered a golfer's paradise. There are many courses within easy reach of Villa Marianna such as The Pinta and The Gramacho courses at neighbouring Carvoeiro. There's also the championship course of Penina just a ten minute drive away.
Keen golfers' find that the location of this Villa ideal to combine both a beach and golfing holiday and it also works well for partners and families who do not participate in the sport.

DRIVING
In Portugal, the cars drive on the right hand side of the road, with vehicles entering from the right having priority. All EU driving licences are valid in the Algarve, but they should preferably be accompanied by an International Driving Permit. You will also need to carry with you your identity card or passport, your insurance certificate, and vehicle log book and proof of ownership.

To hire a car in Portugal, you will need a valid driving license with you. You can also hire a car before you arrive.

Safety belts are compulsory for all passengers, whilst motorcylists must always wear a helmet. There are laws against the use of mobile phones while driving, unless you are using hands-free equipment.

Drinking and Driving is against the law! The blood-alcohol limit is 0.5gm/l, which is lower than in the UK.

It is easy enough to fill up with petrol if you are on the main roads with 24-hour service stations in the main urban areas, as well as on motorways and other main roads. Petrol stations are less frequent in other inland regions and they have variable opening times.

The speed limit for passenger vehicles without trailers and motorcycles is 50kmh/31mph in built up areas, 90kmh/55mph on main roads, 100kmh/62mph on clearways, and 120kmh/75mph on motorways.
Traffic signs comply with international conventions and standards.
