Villa Paraiso, Silves
About the home
Paraiso translates to Paradise, and that's exactly where you'll feel you've stepped when you arrive at this stunningly luxurious villa. Standing in an elevated position overlooking the river, in the countryside just a short drive out of Silves, Villa Paraiso is arguably one of the most stunning villas in our whole portfolio. Whilst being in an idyllic, peaceful and relaxing position, it's still just 10 minutes from Carvoeiro, Portimao, Praia do Rocha and Alvor, and even closer to the historic town of Silves of course.
Straight out of a celebrity magazine, Villa Paraiso ticks all the boxes if you're looking for a relaxing escape in beautiful, scenic countryside, with luxurious, five-star surroundings. The villa is very reminiscent of a five-star Indian Ocean retreat - lush green hillsides, picture-perfect view across an infinity pool to the flowing river below, and cool, contemporary decor and furniture including relaxing cabana-style beds, and even an outdoor bar!
A country track from the road passing through Silves climbs to the gated driveway and entrance to Villa Paraiso. The entrance leads into the open plan living, dining room which has an incredible full size picture window, looking out over the infinity pool, countryside and river like a work of art. The room has a calming Eastern colour-scheme and there's a large L-shaped sofa in front of a wall-mounted flatscreen TV and DVD player. There's also a wooden dining table and chairs near a strategically placed picture window giving diners a glimpse up the mountain-side.
The double bedroom is decorated in a tasteful "classic" style and has a stunning en-suite shower bathroom with slate-stone walls and a large modern shower and sink. This bathroom can also be used as a house bathroom, as there is also a door leading from the lounge area as well as from the bedroom - this can be locked if you choose to use it solely as an en-suite.
The twin bedroom is vibrant and colourful, with large wardrobes and another beautiful en-suite bathroom with a romantic corner bath. There are double-doors from this twin bedroom into an optional third bedroom, this room has a single sofa-bed with a second pull-out single underneath, making this room more suited to older children. There are patio doors leading to the front of the villa and pool, and a unique picture-window looking out to the mountain-side.
The outdoor space is equally as beautiful as the inside. At the front of the house there's a dining table and high quality cushioned rattan chairs which is all covered by a wooden pergola. Steps lead down to the infinity pool which is surrounded by decking, and there are plenty of luxurious sunbeds and a "chill-out" cabana, all looking straight out across the valley to the river. At the top of the drive, above the house, there is a covered dining table and a fantastic kitchen-bar which has shutters opening up to the bar, like you'd expect from a hotel-poolside bar!
Villa Paraiso is a stunningly beautiful villa which offers everything that you want from a luxury holiday - peace, tranquility, five-star surrounds, plus it's easy access to the nearest town and a little further to the beach and main resorts.
Because of the design, hillside layout and steps at Villa Paraiso, it is more suited to older children and less suitable for those with walking difficulties.

Holiday villas in Portugal
A villa holiday in Portugal means staying in one of Europe's warmest countries. Regardless of where you are, you can expect summer temperatures to be above 30°C (35°C in the South) which means our range of coastal resorts are perfect for your stay. You can spend a day at the beach, taking a dip in the Atlantic whenever you feel like cooling off, or hire one of our many villas with swimming pools.
Along with its great climate, Portugal has an absolute wealth of beaches. With over 850 kilometres of coastline, there are a lot of Portuguese beaches to discover, but our villas in Portugal put you within easy reach of some of the best. Portugal is one of the best locations in Europe for a beach holiday when you take a look at what the country can offer holiday makers. Whether you want to take advantage of the beach-bars for a drink, try your hand at some water sports (surfing, jet-skiing, kite-surfing and windsurfing are common activities) or just lounge on the sand, Portugal can provide the perfect place for you to do so.
If you'd rather spend all or part of your holiday delving into Portugal's rich history and culture, then there are plenty of cities and towns throughout the country which offer not only a rich variety of monuments, museums and other places of interest, but also some fantastic views; Portugal is an absolutely beautiful country with plenty to offer the sightseer. There are also large areas of the country that allow the local wildlife to roam undisturbed, and any nature-lovers are sure to enjoy a trip to Peneda-Gerês, the Duoro Valley and Serra da Estrela.
There's also Portugal's golf. Recent years have seen the country become a great destination for fans of the sport, with plenty of Portugal's golf courses ranking amongst the best in Europe. Not only are the courses great for experts and newcomers alike, but they're also designed to allow you to enjoy Portugal's wonderful landscape and views.
Another advantage of our villas in Portugal is being able to take advantage of some of Portugal's festivals, especially the Festival do Sudoeste in the south of the country, which takes advantage of the long stretches of beach and excellent landscapes to put on one of Portugal's most famous and well-received festivals.
If you've got an interest in fashion, then a holiday at our villas in Portugal can be a great chance to pick up some of Portugal's finest offerings. Fairs are the perfect place to pick up unique, handcrafted items, including purses, clothes, glass ornaments and more. There are also some great fashion houses, well-known inside Portugal, that you can find dedicated shops for, or in some of the fashion shops in towns and cities.
Food fans will find themselves spoilt for choice during a villa holiday in Portugal. Soup might not sound like an adventurous dish, but the Portuguese have turned soup-making into an art form. You'll find soups made of fish, sausages, chicken and all sorts of other ingredients, often as the first course to the rest of a delicious meal. The grilled chicken, sardines, veal and pork are all mainstays in Portuguese restaurants. There are also a huge selection of pork, beef, seafood and even wild boar dishes that can be found in restaurants throughout the country. During the meal, Portugal's famous wines are the perfect accompaniment, and a port wine is a great post-meal drink.
We have villas in some of Portugal's best resorts. Why not stay in a villa in Albufeira and enjoy some of Portugal's best beaches? Or enjoy the golfing that villas in Vilamoura offer? Villas in Carvoeiro are a great choice for those looking for somewhere quieter, perfect for fans of beautiful scenery.
The Carvoeiro area
Carvoeiro was originally a very small intimate fishing village and today it still retains the same charm and many visitors find themselves returning year after year. The highlight of the village of Carvoeiro is the village square, where you can eat al-fresco with stunning views beyond the colourful fishing boats out to sea. The square is just metres from the sandy beach making Carvoeiro the perfect location for a relaxed family villa holiday.
The one and only village street has now become three, each lined with bars, smart restaurants and tourist shops. Happily, there are still examples of the older quaint small houses tucked in between the more recent ones.
A 36-hole golf complex can be found to the west of the village together with a well run tennis centre. To the east and on the outskirts is a further 9-hole course. A couple of lawn bowling clubs add to the choice of sport.
The area has long been considered a excellent area for tourist to acquire property and also due to the variety and pleasure provided its many small beaches. High cliffs surround most of these, and some of which have eroded to create beckoning dark caves most of which are only accessible at low tide. Beaches to visit are Praia de Centianes, Praia de Carvalho, Praia de Benagil, Praia de Marinha and Praia da Albandeira.
