About the home

The self catering villa is in a secluded but not remote rural area with an uninterrupted view of 2 km to the sea. Tranquility within a 2 minute or so drive from the bars,restaurants, entertainment and bustle of Carvoeiro. The Villa is very spacious with 5 double bedrooms (with single beds pushed together for doubles) - 2 on ground level and 3 on upper ground level. The master bedroom has a walk in wardrobe and en suite. There is a separate WC and bathroom/shower serving the two main level guest bedrooms. The two lower level guest bedrooms are both en suite.

There is a large living room with separate dining area - a large well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar - and a laundry room – and a daily maid except weekends. If you ask, she will sort out your washing. You do not need to take any towels, sheets etc with you.

All living/bedrooms have sliding doors onto a south facing patio with uninterrupted view to sea on horizon - overlooking own large swimming pool (10m x 5m) which is served by a separate changing room, lavatory and shower.

The house has a double garage and is set in its own 3 acres of uncultivated land. It is comprehensively and comfortably furnished.

The Algarve has over 300 kms of golden sandy beaches which are free to use ,the larger ones have lifeguard patrols through out the summer and restaurants.

The Algarve is known for its beaches night life and weather.

The Carvoeiro area

The villa is set in a tranquil rural setting 2km from sea and 3.5 km from Carvoeiro.

More golf courses within 10-30 mins drive that you can wave a club at. Excellent cliff walking nearby. Motor race and carting track outside Portimao is worth a visit. Sightseeing at Silves and Monchique.

DIRECTIONS FROM FARO AIRPORT TO CASA RIDASA

Getting to within 2 miles of Casa Ridasa is very easy. On leaving the airport:- follow the signposts for Faro but do not go into Faro. Follow instead the motorway signs for Portimao and Loule, that will take you along the N125 before you get onto the motorway (IP 1). www.carvoeiro.com website has an illustrated aid on how to get to Carvoeiro from Faro airport via Lagoa but you should get off the motorway at the exit before Lagoa. (Note – Do not confuse Lagoa and Lagos – the latter is about 30 km further west)

When on the motorway keep following the signs for Portimao but exit at Alcantarilha, (Exit 5, I think)– which is the exit before Lagoa and two exits before Portimao, in case you go too far and need to backtrack. (You can stay on the motorway to Lagoa – but it takes you too far west and the attached sketch will not make any sense). Follow the signs to Lagoa on the N125 – second exit off roundabout at motorway exit. Do not take first exit off roundabout to Silves or carry on round roundabout following signs to Alcantarilha.

After you go through Porches, you are almost there. Do not go on as far as Lagoa. You come to a staggered double set of traffic lights by the International School about 6km after motorway exit. See the attached plan. (Note - If you get to a second set of traffic lights about 3km or so further on you have gone too far and will need to retrace your steps). You have to exit off the N125 on the right hand side and do a “U” turn through traffic lights and then go back about 150 metres or so on yourself before turning right i.e. at the traffic lights you need to turn left but you cannot do so. The regulations require that you leave the road on the right backtracking and then take a right hand turn.

Having taken the “backtracked” right hand turn, drive for 1½/2 km, then take a right hand turn signposted - Val Del Rei and Lagoa. After 1 km you will go past a small school, now unused, on the left immediately before a new roundabout. About 300 to 400 metres further on you will come to a small restaurant on the right hand side (Poppy’s –formerly Simplico) If you get lost a local should be able to tell you where this restaurant is). You are almost there. You will then see a small yellow home made sign for Casa Ridasa at the junction of the main road you are on with a dirt track on the left before a white cottage – just after 2 rubbish containers.

Follow the direction of the arrow – i.e. turning left down the dirt track. After 200 metres or so the dirt track forks. Take the right hand narrower fork and keep on driving until you see on your right, after about 150 yards or so, iron gates and “Ridasa” on the left hand pillar. Save for a rustic small holding, 100 yards or so further down the increasingly narrowing and ruttier dead end track, Ridasa is the last house. You are there!

Although, the track is very uneven and pot holed, it is a public highway!
