About the home
On entry into 46B consists of two spacious twin bedrooms both with air conditioning, and large wardrobes with a safe in one. A shower room and a bathroom with shower over the bath, a fully equipped kitchen and lounge dining area with FTA TV, DVD player and log fire. From the lounge is a large balcony terrace with stunning views of Carvoeiro and the sea. There is a table and chairs which allow you to enjoy your breakfast and the views at the same time. All linen and towels are supplied.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region
The weather is great most of the year (average yearly temperature 22.3C). April/May/October/November its in the lower 20sC, June/July/August/September upper 20sC - 35C or more.
The area is filled with history. Why not go and explore some of the beautiful villages and towns that Portugal has to offer. You can visit the most westerly point in Europe - Cape St Vincent, see the natural springs in the Monchique mountains, visit some of the town markets and by the way Lisbon is only 2.5 hours away by car for the those who want to go a bit further, or Spain at 1 hour away.
The Carvoeiro / Central Carvoeiro area
The area is great for walking, whether on the cliff tops, by the sea or through the country. Carvoeiro offers Banks, shops, bars, restaurants, entertainment, beach, boat trips (to the Grottos). Most activities are close by, Golf, Horse riding, Tennis, 3 water parks in the area, shopping centres and more, see our website or contact us.
Coast/Beach
Within 400m there is Carvoeiro beach. There are several pretty coved beaches in the area within 5 minutes drive. Wide sandy beaches are at Armacao De Pera. Ferragudo & Praia Grande.
Golf
The 9 hole par 3 Vale do Milho golf course is within 3km and other more challenging courses are within 30 minutes drive. These include the Gramacho and Pinta courses on the Pestana complex. Championship courses include Vale da Pinta near Carvoeiro and the famous Penina course near Portimao. A golfers paradise.
Travel
Faro airport is approximately 45 minutes drive away. Car hire is recommended to explore the general area but all local services are in Carvoeiro approx 5 minutes walk. Taxis are readily available
Distances
Carvoeiro is about a 5 minute walk and the towns of Lagos, Silves & Portimao are up to 30 minutes drive. A leisurely day trip would include the Monchique mountains and Cape St Vincent with other areas of the western peninsula.
Monte Dourado enjoys a privileged hill-top position overlooking the Carvoeiro beach and within strolling distance of the village, recognised as one of the Algarve´s most upmarket coastal resorts. Monte Dourado Guests have the choice of five swimming pool areas (each with kiddies pool) and there are two tennis courts on site. The renowned Carvoeiro Clube de Tenis is also located in the village and it takes only 10 minutes by car to reach three of the Algarve´s finest golf courses. The reception staff speak several languages and the resort, which is a 45-minute drive from Faro International Airport, has abundant parking facilities.

A hidden gem, this was our first time to the Algarve but it certainly won't be our last! The apartment was perfectly situated and contained everything a family could wish for. The pool(s) are suitable for children of all ages and cleaned daily. Located on a hilltop with a beautiful view, the walk into nearby Carveiro takes approx 5-10 minutes depending on the children! The resort is very family friendly and bustling but without the obligatory 'strip' that seems to be featured as an attraction in many other resorts. The apartment catches a slight evening ambient noise from the village but this adds to the experience rather than a hindrance. Once at the resort, everything is within walking distance although if the excellent and numerous Algarve beaches are what interest you then a car is a must. A truly wonderful holiday. |
