"Comfortable well equipped cottage"

Friendly owners made booking easy, information provided and helpful instructions were very welcome, Cottage was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Upstairs and downstairs loos a bonus. Kitchen and equipment modern and well equipped. Cottage homely a high spec tv and DVD a bonus. WIFI very useful. Lots of local public houses to choose from with the pheasant and the engine inn being our favourites. Disappointed with the yakkers as when we called in they had decided they weren't serving food very strange. Cream carpet was hard to keep clean if you inadvertently walked across the front garden and forgot to take tour shies off.

Many thanks for finding the time to write a review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Fell View and hope to welcome you back in the future.

"A comfortable, cosy hideaway in a pretty Lakeland village"

We have just spent a 4 day break over the Christmas period at Fell View Cottage. The cottage was immaculately clean and was even decorated for Christmas! A bottle of wine and tea and biscuits were waiting for us. Very welcome after our long journey! We managed to cook our Christmas meal for 7 people (3 of whom were staying somewhere else) in the well equipped kitchen. The cottage welcomes dogs and there is plenty of walking in the area. Unfortunately we didn't have time to try the two pubs in the village. Maybe next time! Sue, Pete and family

Many thanks. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Fell View, as we have worked very hard to provide a well equipped and comfortable base from which you can enjoy a Lake District holiday.

"Everything was there!"

To start with booking the cottage was easy and efficiently done. The landlords have thought of everything - starting with tea and biscuits upon arrival. They have created a comfortable, beautifully decorated place with binders of things to do, walks and places to visit. They also left easy instructions on usage of appliances, wi fi and other things in the cottage. One of the landlords called the day after we arrived to make sure everything was fine. It was a convenient location for visiting the coast and several lakes.

Many thanks for your review. We take our job of providing a quality holiday for our guests very seriously and really try hard to think of everything you may need, so it was nice to hear you wanted for nothing.

"would devo go back"

We enjoyed the cottage very much,it was very central to go around & see the lakes. we are thinking about booking the cottage for next was great that we could take are dog,the only trouble was when the dog went into the garden,i carried her in & washed her paws because there was a cream carpet in the lounge.Overall the cottage was cosy & comfy. There was everything in the cottage you needed, there was a welcome pack , which we thought was very thoughtful.Brian the owner rang us to ask if everything was ok, which we thought was very thoughtfull & nice of him.If you are looking at this cottage dont look at it too long, just book it before it goes. we are looking forward to returning next year.x

Thank you. So glad that you enjoyed Fell View, we have worked very hard to create a real home from home with luxuries.

"End of terrace villa convenient for southern Lakes District."

The accommodation is a reasonably recent build, end of terrace villa wth downstairs lounge, kitchen and toilet. Upstairs is 2 bedrooms and a family bathroom. There is also a garage which can be used for your vehicle or bike storage plus an enclosed garden. The advert states the lounge room seats 5 and then dinner table will seat 6. This we found was an exaggeration as our party was 4 adults then it was as much as you would want comfortably. In fact there was only 4 chairs at the dinner table. The bedrooms were average with simple beds and a wardrobe, chest and bedside tables definately not designer furniture that the ad lists as with the "designer" lounge?? The bathroom was OK although on the first day we needed the assistance of the plumber to fix the problem of leaking water into the kitchen downstairs!! However that was fixed straight away after a phone call so I commend the owners for that and the phone call to check all was well. In general I think the cottage is described to make it sound like some romantic cottage with pretty garden and outlook but in fact it is just another house in a quiet street of many. The pubs in the village are OK for an evening meal and within walking distance. The little shop carries milk and other essentials. Grange-over-Sands is close and a nice place for a walk and coffee, and the southern Lakes are all close. Definately recommend a visit to Muncaster. A car is needed for the area. If you were to bring children there does seem to be a number of games provided for their entertainment.

We are disappointed to read this review which suggests that we have portrayed Fell View cottage as something which it isn’t. Our lounge was upgraded only a few months ago by installing a one off designer leather sofa and a tub chair from M&S. Our table is set up to take 4 seats but by opening the centre leaf it extends to take 6 with the extra folding seats being stored in the cloaks room. The master bedroom only a few months ago was upgraded with oak furniture from Besp-oak, Sanderson curtains and cushions and Egyptian cotton bedding from Belledorn. Fell View is located in the lovely quiet village of Allithwaite and is ideally located for access to the main lakes attractions. Our garden is well stocked with plants and is well maintained and on sunny days is delightful. We have views from our upstairs windows of the nearby hills which are particularly beautiful when drenched in the evening sunshine. The two village pubs within a few minutes walk of Fell View have been used by many of our visitors and are describe by most as extremely good – certainly not just OK.
