Cartagena enjoys a mild tropical climate that brings with it the promise of warm and sunny days. With an average annual year-round temperature of 88 degrees Fahrenheit, and an average water temperature of 83 degrees Fahrenheit, conditions are perfectly aligned to enjoy time on the beach, in the sea, and in the sun. Beach tents, chairs, and umbrellas can readily be rented from local vendors. Further, just steps away from the apartment exists a small and friendly beach front shop that rents water sport equipment (e.g. surf boards, paddle boards, kite boards, jet skis). For those interested in scuba diving, experienced specialized dive shops are within five minutes of the apartment, all of which will gladly organize dive outings in addition to lessons for first time divers. The Colombian Caribbean Coast region

Cartagena or Cartagena de Indias, is a majestic city on the northern coast of Colombia in the Caribbean coast region. In 1984 Cartagena's colonial walled city and fortress were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city was founded in June 1533, and named after Cartagena, Spain. Settlement, however, in this region around Cartagena Bay by various indigenous people dates back to 4000 BC. During the colonial period Cartagena served an essential role in the administration and expansion of the Spanish empire. It was a center of political and economic activity due to the presence of royalty and wealthy viceroys.

Today Cartagena is touted around the world as a top travel destination recognized for its colonial charm, fascinating history, colorful culture, picturesque coastal setting, gastronomic gems, vibrant nightlife, and the genuine warmth and hospitality of its people.
