The County Antrim region
This lovely refurbished terraced cottage is nestled among four other cottages in Whitehead close to the peninsula of Islandmagee. Traditional handmade touches together with modern day amenities make this a truly delightful gem. Enter into a charming sitting room with a welcoming fire. French doors open onto a sunny garden with a patio and decking area which is surrounded with tall hedges on either side making it a lovely private retreat. The nearby harbour is edged with colourful buildings and a lighthouse walk. A great touring base for both Eastern and Northern coasts of Northern Ireland and the scenic Antrim Coastal drive to Giant?s Causeway.

Island Magee (or Islandmagee) is a serene spot on the Antrim Coast just north of Belfast. Locals refer to it as ?the island? but it is actually a peninsula about 8 miles (12 km) long and between two and three miles wide. It is connected by a narrow passage to the mainland just off Whitehead and then continues parallel to the coast all the way to Larne, forming Larne Lough. The peninsula has a long tradition of sea fearing having produced more famous mariners than any similarly sized piece of real estate in Ireland.
Whitehead is a pretty seaside village on the east coast of County Antrim, Northern Ireland and is fairly self sufficient in terms of businesses and services for daily needs, including shops, schools churches and recreation.
It lies almost midway between the bustling town of Carrickfergus with its mediaeval castle and historic harbour and the busy port of Larne. Located at the base of Muldersleigh Hill, at the entrance to Belfast Lough, on the Irish Sea, it lies in a small bay between the limestone cliffs of Whitehead and the black volcanic cliff of Blackhead, with the Blackhead lighthouse on top, marking the entrance to Belfast Lough.
Whitehead Golf Club which serves food is just opposite the cottage in McCrae?s Brae and local musicians meet every Thursday night for a ?session? in The Railway Bar in Whitehead. Live ?diddlidee? music is also available on Wednesday evenings in local pub in nearby Ballycarry.
Internet. The property does not receive a good internet signal but is available in local caf? & Whitecliff Inn in Whitehead where morning coffee is also served.
Golf ? miles. Childrens Playground 1 miles. Coastal walks 1? miles. Fishing, Bird watching 2 miles. Horse riding 4 miles. Leisure centre & indoor pool 6 miles.
