There is also a modern fitted kitchen, a lovely sitting room with dining area and a fabulous balcony, well positioned so that you can enjoy the scenic countryside. At the old farmhouse, which serves as the home for the site’s leisure facilities, visitors can enjoy an indoor swimming pool, steam room and gym, or perhaps an excellent meal from the Tapas bar or Italian restaurant. The property is also well placed for exploring Kirkby Lonsdale, Kendal and the Lake District National Park - all of which are just a short drive away.

Electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, colour TV, DVD player etc. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen inc. in rent. Off road parking for two cars. Garden with lawn and patio area, balcony with garden furniture. Sorry, no smoking or pets. Shop 2 miles, pub 1 min walk. Note: Balcony has a large drop and may be dangerous for young children unless sitting room door is kept locked - please ensure children are supervised. Note: Additional charges for use of leisure facilities - Prices: Individual adult £5 per day and individual child £3 per day. Family pass (up to 2 adults and 3 children) £10 per day, £30 per 3 days and £60 per week. Under 4s free of charge.
The Cumbria/Lake District region
Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes – the Lake District landscape has inspired several literary greats, including William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Water, where you can cruise the lake on a steam-powered yacht soaking up the scenery in Victorian style, could be for you. Walking is one of the best ways of exploring the Lake District.
For the serious walker the mountains of Skiddaw, Scafell and Helvellyn provide enjoyable challenges, whilst at lower levels there are hundreds of routes wandering among the lakes and stone-walled fields. You can even choose a lake to suit your mood: if bustling lakeside towns and exhilarating watersports take your fancy, then Windermere and Coniston Water, where you can cruise the lake on a steam-powered yacht soaking up the scenery in Victorian style, could be for you.
If it’s peace and tranquility you seek then the secluded lakes of Buttermere and Wastwater are not to be missed. Yet Cumbria offers much more than the lakes alone. Explore the National Nature Reserve on Walney Island or visit the picturesque Duddon Valley, where the heather clad moors peppered with birch trees inspired many of Wordsworth’s poems. With its award-winning gardens and the Lakeland Motor Museum, Holker Hall is also a great day out, whilst in northern Cumbria the peaceful villages of Caldbeck and Ireby offer a haven of solitude and picturesque tranquility.
To the east lies the green and sheltered Eden Valley. Its dramatic landscape provides a range of activities including walking, cycling and watersports and is home to the Lakeland Bird of Prey Centre and Lowther Wildlife Park, perfect for a family day out
The Carnforth / Yealand Redmayne area
Situated just a couple of miles from Carnforth on the border of the Southern Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales is the South Lakeland Leisure Village. Combining superb countryside and a coast with a rich and fascinating history, this beautiful area is mentioned in the Doomsday Book. Built in a former quarry, the South Lakeland Leisure Village provides top quality accommodation in the form of Scandinavian Log Cabins and is set around a large lake over 10 acres of land. The 17th Century farmhouse serves as the main club and provides a variety of facilities including an indoor swimming pool, gym and steam room. There is also an onsite Tapas bar, Italian restaurant and bar. However, the pretty villages that surround the resort also offer a number of traditional pubs.

,At South Lakeland Leisure Village, the welcome was really friendly and the information pack useful. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, the decor was clean and fresh. When we went in it was warm and cosy. The lodge was spacious with plenty of storage. This lodge was comfortable enough for our needs. The local attractions were perfect for our toddler. The lodge itself had lovely views over the lake which had a fountain. We had a really peaceful relaxing time. Everyone we spoke to was friendly and polite.

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.
Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.
"Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
