Ivy Cottage is a 17th century granary converted in the early 1900's into a three bedroom 3 storey cottage. It is situated in the beautiful peaceful hamlet of Priest Hutton, 10 miles from the historic town of Lancaster and 13 miles from Kendal, gateway to the Lakes.
The cottage is ideally placed for exploring the Lake District (Windermere 20 miles) Yorkshire Dales (Ingleborough 18 miles) and Forest of Bowland (20 miles). Activities include walking, fishing, cycling, bird watching and many extreme activites available in the Lake District such a Ghyll Scrambling. The beach at Morecambe is also nearby.
The nearest pub/restaurant is less than a mile away with the new Greenlands Farm Village also less than a mile away where local produce is available.

Kendal, Winderemere, Ambleside, Grassmere, Keswick, Penrith, all well known towns, all with their own special attractions, all well within striking distance of Ivy Cottage. There is always something to do and somewhere to go, no matter the weather.
Carnforth / Priest Hutton area
Ivy Cottage in Priest Hutton has many local attractions. Within a few minutes walk you are at the Lancaster to Kendal Canal, alongside the historic Borwick Hall. From here you can walk to Morecambe, passing a few pubs along the way.
The market town of Carnforth is about 3 miles away with both a Booths Supermarket and a Tesco as well as a local butcher and baker and specialist shops and gift shops. At the bottom of the hill is Carnforth Station and Visitor Centre made famous by the film Brief Encounter.
Beautiful seaside towns of Arnside and Silverdale are about 10 miles away with the RSPB Nature Reserve at Leighton Moss, just outside Silverdale.
The historic town of Lancaster is just 10 miles away where you an discover the mystery of the Pendle Witches at the Ancient Castle.
Also nearby is Levens Hall a magnificent Elizabethan Historic House with world famous Topiary Gardens and Steam Collection.

The entrance porch with window seats lead into a lounge with original beams and open fireplace.This leads to a modern kitchen with separate dining area.
From the lounge, stairs lead to the first floor where there is a double bedroom and modern bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle.
The second floor has a double bedroom with a king-size bed, and single bedroom.
Although we welcome children under 5, we do not supply high chair or cot.
