The Cumbria/Lake District region

What can you say about the Lake District that people don't already know. This is one of the most beautiful places in England with great scenery & many attractions to visit. Visit Wast Water voted Britain's favourite view, take a boat ride on Lake Windermere. Take a ride on the Haverthwaite to Lakeside steam train traversing through the hills. For the more energetic there are fabulous walks for example in Grizedale forest or water sports on offer. With some fantastic castles including Muncaster & large stately homes such as Levens Hall to visit you could come back to the lakes year after year and discover something new. Visit the lake district tourist information website for a more comprehensive list of activities. The Lodge has a comprehensive guide of places to visit in the Lakes, Lancashire and Yorkshire Dales to browse at your leisure.
The Carnforth area
Carnforth is small town but with lots of intresting things to do. The old train station has been restored to bring it back to its glory days of steam & this is were Brief Encounter was filmed. With Lancaster & Morecambe only a short drive away you will find lots of shops, bars & restaurants. With a large fairground on Morecambe promenade & a golden sandy beach this will keep the kids amused all day.

From the initial contact with the owners who made the booking process quick and easy upon arrival both myself and my partner where very pleased with the initial presentation of the property, once we had settled in every possible attention to detail was catered for even the provision of dishwasher tablets all the amenities that was described more than met our expectation with quality clean and cared for furnishings. the whole time we where there every possible need was thought of with clear guidance notes for use of all the equipment provided. The external hot tub was kept to a very high standard and was utilized on several occasions in summary we had a great time and will be using this accommodation again and be highly recommending to friends and family a credit to the owners Thank You |
