The Castle is a Crusaders' structure from the 11th century. It is situated at the highest point in Kerem Maharal overlooking the Maharal valley and the Carmel Mountains. The Castle was used as one of the sea forts on the king's road (Habonim, Dor and Atlit). The castle is surrounded by a green blooming garden shaded by olive trees, a tended lawn, water well and peacocks that run around free.

On the upper floor, the guest floor, are situated the Pink suite and the Purple suite, both suitable for couples .In the suits you will find: a comfortable double bed, a unique mosaic bathtub, a romantic sitting area, air conditioning, fire place, satellite plasma television, d.v.d and an exit to a big patio over looking the view of Carem Maharal. There is also a tea/coffee corner, slippers and a bottle of wine in each suite. The hospitality includes breakfast - enjoy breakfast served at the village coffee shops, or for a supplementary price you can order breakfast/dinner at the casle itself! In the lobby and shared kitchen you will find a refrigerator, serving dishes, a dining corner, a rich coffee corner, milk, mineral water and an exit to an amazing panoramic balcony.

It's ideal to rent the entire upper floor as one big suite for families, two couples or even one couple interested in having the place totally to themselves!

We are situated close to a number of Israel's finest natural attractions, including the Carmel Mountains National Park, home to the two hundred thousand year old Valley of the Cavemen, and the Dor-Habonim Beach Reserve, one of Israel's most beautiful beaches offering spectacular Mediterranean vistas.

Ein-Hod, a famous artists' village that boasts plentiful museums, galleries, coffee shops and restaurants, is close by, while Zichron Yaakov, the closest city to us, has a variety of good restaurants and shopping centres.

The Castle is located in Kerem Maharal, in the Carmel coast, 10 minutes north of Zichron Ya'akov and south of Ein Hod.

How to get there

From Ben Gurion airport you can take the train until Byniamina or a taxi to Haifa will stop by on the way.

Kerem Maharal is located between Tel Aiv And Haifa, in the Carmel Beach villages and a 40-minute drive from Tel Aviv.

There is a separate entrance to the guest floor by a stone stairway that leads to the highest point in the village that overlooks the Maharal valley!

Meals are available on request. Meals must be ordered in advance and are served in a private hall in the castle. Minimum of 4 people, maximum of 25 people for meals please!

We can host private events for up to 60 people, including or excluding food. Price depends on the event, although a rough estimate would be between 800 and 1200 Euros.
