Dryslwyn cottage is In an idyllic rural setting in the Towy valley, two miles from the historic and quirky town of Llandeilo, it is an ideal base for visiting Wales. It is within easy reach of the breath-taking scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park, the beaches of West Wales and the splendid gardens of the Towy valley. The National Botanic Gardens of Wales, with its great glasshouse, and Aberglasney Gardens are just minutes away. The bustling town of Carmarthen and the city of Swansea are both easily reached by car.

Named after nearby Dryslwyn castle this stone cottage is one of three cottages converted from former farm buildings. An old stone threshing barn has also been converted into a games room with tabletennis, snooker, book shelves and toys. The cottage has its own patio area and also has use of the large lawned garden and can wander in the recently replanted orchard which is surrounded by ancient oak trees.

Guests can enjoy themselves fishing on the renowned Towy river, bird watching (the red kite can often be seen hovering over Dinefwr Castle) and walking.

The cottage has been refurbished in November 2014 with new carpets, curtains and new kitchen.

The West Wales/Pembrokeshire region

A relaxing, peaceful area from the mountains of the Brecon Beacons to the glorious sandy beaches of the Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire coasts. Plenty to do for all nature lovers, castle enthusiasts and gardeners. The National Botanic Garden of Wales with its great glasshouse is a "must visit" place.

With its mild climate throughout the year the area is an ideal place for that get away break during the dark months of winter.

Carmarthen

In the middle of the Towy valley, with its rich farmland, Llandeilo is a stronghold of the Welsh language. A busy small town with plenty of cafes, pubs, quirky shops and art galleries. The children will love the home-made icecream whilst Mum browses in all the small shops.

Close to the edge of the Brecon Beacons there is plenty to do for everyone. Walking, fishing and bird-watching are favorites with nature lovers. Aberglasney Gardens and the National Botanic Garden of Wales with the great glasshouse delight young and old alike. The area is renowned for its castles, Dryslwyn, Dinefwr and Carreg Cennen castle are all close by.

Carmarthen, Swansea and Cardiff with their museums and shops are all within easy reach by car.

Llandeilo hosts regular festivals throughout the year. The Jazz Festival and the Music Festival take place in July. The Festival of the Senses in the winter.
