Climb Snowdon, which at 1085m is Wales’ highest mountain, or travel to the summit in style on the charming Mountain Railway. Alternatively, why not sample the beautiful green valley of Llangollen by steam train or from a leisurely horse-drawn canal boat.
In July, the annual Llangollen Eisteddfod transforms the town into a unique centre of international music and dance, attracting musicians and singers from across the globe. You could also explore the beautiful coastline, safe sandy beaches and watersports of the Lleyn Peninsula, as well as Colwyn Bay, historic Conwy, Victorian Llandudno or the Isle of Anglesey on the north coast.
To the south, there’s the lovely Brecon Beacons National Park, a haven of rugged moorland, forests and mountains that’s just perfect for nature lovers and walkers. Finally, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is renowned for its wildlife, stunning coastal scenery, superb beaches and as the home of Britain’s smallest city, the City of St David’s.
The Carmarthen Bay / Ferryside area

There are castles, craft centres and mills across the landscape as well as the mysterious Merlin’s Hill Centre, shrouded in myth and legend and rich in wildlife. With walks from the doorstep and the cycle trail at the Millennium Coastal Path close by, this is a perfect a base for a relaxing or an active holiday for the whole family.

The cottage was clean and comfortable with loads of homely touches. Only drawback was that we would have welcomed an extra toilet as there were 5 adults in our party. Verified by FlipKey, a TripAdvisor company |
Guestbook for 2900 - Crusty Hills
Crusty Hills is a wonderfully cosy home from home. It has a very welcoming feel and we were especially delighted with some provisions that had been left to welcome us. The owners of the cottage certainly know how to make people feel at home. We were a party of 4 adults and 1 child and not one of us wanted to come home at the end of our stay.

,Really interesting building, full of quirky features. We all absolutely loved it. A very welcome carton of milk and loaf of bread plus items like jam and butter; this was super after a 6 hour journey.
Also the info. sheets etc were very useful in planning our days out
