Gretna is only 9 miles away- every year over 4,000 weddings take place in Gretna and Gretna Green, which amounts to around one in eight of all weddings that take place in Scotland. It also has a well established outlet shopping centre with shops such as Ralph Lauren, Gap and M and S.

Hadrian's Wall World Heritage Site is perfect for a family day out. Discover Roman life and epic history in stunning locations. Visit the farthest reaches of the Roman Empire and explore indoors and out at our Roman forts, towns and museums and uncover the story of Roman Britain.

The 7stanes are seven mountain biking trails spanning the south of Scotland. The nearest one to the cabin is in Newcastleton which is approximately 7 miles away.

Kielder Water & Forest Park is home to northern Europe's largest man made lake and England's largest forest. There are many outdoor activities available here including sailing, bike trails, walks and tearooms.

The Prior's Tower is next to the Cathedral and houses a small exhibition in the pele tower.

We are naturally disappointed with your comments, and acknowledge that it is very unfortunate that this has happened after your stay. I can only apologise again as indeed I did when I spoke to you by phone on two occasions. As our consecutive reviews show we keep the accommodation and the outdoor area including the hot tub maintained to the highest standards and have never had any complaint about the hot tub or in fact any complaint what so ever in the two years since completion. Your implication that the refund of your £100 damage deposit was a "buy off" is both inaccurate and offensive.

Everything from the top quality kitchen to the Jacuzzi Hot Tub, to the fantastic flapjacks on arrival meant we all enjoyed a lovely stay.
