About this location
The Ceredigion region
Ceredigion is a beautifully unspoilt area. Stunning coastline which now boasts the new coast path which has opened up lots of previously unseen areas. Lots of interesting small market towns within easy reach, Cardigan, Aberaeron, Newquay, Aberystwyth, Tregaron and Lampeter. Also nearby Pembrokeshire with it's National Park and long established coast path. Dophins are a very common siting along side seals , choughs and peregrines. Smaller villages of Aberporth, Tresaith and Llangrannog and their pretty beaches are all close by.
The area is busy over peak July and August but the remainder of the time one can easily find a secluded beach all to oneself.
Mwnt beach is owned by the National trust. It is a very sheltered little cove making it a safe swimmimg/surfing beach. The area of the car park and surrounding is all grass, with plenty of walking area. The coast path passes through and is an ideal starting/finishing point. The other main feature of Mwnt is it's 14thC church. Very picturesque and a very popular photo /painting subject.
The beach is reached by steps. public conveniences and shop/cafe (open Easter - end October
