We stayed at Llanvithyn Cottage for 5 nights over Christmas 2011. Initially we were to be 4 adults, but 2 further guests joined us at the last minute, happy to "camp" on airbeds in the sitting room as the Crag Loft ideal for children, but not really for adults. We arrived to find pretty Christmas lights twinkling along the cottage front, a Christmas wreath on the front door, and a decorated Christmas Tree in the sitting room! The cottage had everything we needed, was comfortable and cosy, with the wood-burning stove (we took extra logs with us) and we enjoyed seeing our hosts' 2 elder children bring their horses from the field to the stables next door to the cottage to prepare them for riding. Our friendly hosts were available if needed, but apart from "tv remote control guidance" (not bright enough to work it out ourselves!), we didn't need to call on them, as everything was fine. As we were busy being Christmassy, we didn't have time to explore the locality, except for a brief visit to Cowbridge, and to the theatre in Cardiff, but to visit in Spring or Summer and enjoy the surrounding countryside would be lovely. Highly reccommended! |

This property was ideal, we were visiting our daughter who was due to have a baby in Cardiff. The city was 25 minutes drive on excellent roads. It is set in a very small village with no shop but an good pub restaurant. Daily we passed by a local shop & large shopping centres were 15 minutes drive away. You do need a car, but you'll definitely want one to explore the little villages & seaside close by and the facilities Cardiff has to offer. Pembrokeshire is close enough to visit in a day. Facilities were excellent, it can sleep up to 6 although I would say that 2 should be kids. The lounge area was cosy with a nice outlook wood fire & the kitchen/eating room was a delight to be in. Beds were comfortable and good BBQ deck. We had a long term stay - almost 3 months and felt like we were home. We entertained at the cottage, had visitors stay from Europe. Great cottage for a short holiday and excellent for a long term stay. Highly recommended. Fantastic hosts, there if you needed them but otherwise unobtrusive. |

We spent a fantastic week at Llanvithyn Cottage this August. Not only was the cottage beautiful but we had sunshine for our entire stay! The photos on the website do not do the cottage justice - this is the first time I've booked a property and been surprised at how much bigger than I expected it was. The kitchen/diner is enormous and very well equipped, by the end of the week we could quite happily have moved in. The cottage is clean and beautifully decorated - a really good conversion. My children loved their rooms particularly the attic bedroom. Jon, Sian and their children were very welcoming hosts and we definitely plan to return. |

In 25 years of staying in self catering accomodation this is the most comfortable cottage we have stayed in. Superbly renovated and outstanding location. The photos do not do it justice.

A big thankyou to Jon and Sian who made us very welcome. A great deal of thought has been put into the preparation of this beautiful cottage - every detail and every need is well catered for. This is an ideal location from which to explore South Wales and we've had a wonderful holiday. Thankyou!

Fascinating to be staying in an historic site of such significance in the spread of the gospel in Britain and throughout Wales. A beautiful location and a very tasteful conversion.
