This 5 star luxury cottage is set in a countryside location, yet is only 20 minutes from Cardiff. Surrounded by woodland and rolling hills and with a superb local pub and restaurant nearby, it is an ideal location to just sit back and relax or to stay for one of the many sporting and cultural events in Cardiff and South Wales.

There are walks directly from the cottage and many activities and attractions nearby. Highlights include the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Glamorgan Heritage Coast. The property is disabled friendly with all rooms located on one floor and with widened doorways.

Open plan kitchen and dining room. Fully equipped kitchen including range cooker, American style fridge freezer, coffee machine, dishwasher. Dining room includes a table with seating for 8 and a large comfy sofa, TV and state of the art sound system.

Lounge with 40” TV, freeview and DVD player, and comfy sofas.

Stylish master bathroom with WC, sink and bath.

Bedroom 1 with double bed, cupboard, chest of drawers and en-suite walk in shower room.

The South Wales region

This detached property is set on a small holding with one other small holiday cottage (Llety Tyn y Coed) within 50 acres of woodland and countryside, and only a very short walk to popular local restaurant and pub. To the South the village of Creigiau is only 1 mile away and that includes a golf course, local shop and another pub. 1 mile to the North is another village, Efail Isaf. This also has a good local pub.

Cardiff

Cardiff is just 7.5 miles away and has many attractions and activities, not to mention the world class shopping and entertainment, the Millennium Stadium hosts world class rugby games and will again host Rugby World Cup games in 2015. Sophia Gardens is now a test match cricket venue and is hosting the first Ashes match of 2015. Cardiff Castle is well worth a visit, as is Cardiff Bay with its huge freshwater lagoon, International White Water Centre, The Millennium Centre, Olympic Swimming pool, Doctor Who Exhibition, Sailing centre and selection of restaurants and bars.

The Brecon Beacons National Park is only half an hour away with mountains, lakes, waterfalls and of course breath-taking scenery. The area is well known for its natural beauty and is great for walking, fishing, cycling or just to relax and enjoy the magical surroundings.

The Glamorgan Heritage Coast has some great beaches to suit all, from family friendly sandy beaches with many amenities such as Barry Island to quiet idyllic hideaways with dramatic cliffs and only accessible on foot. Southerndown and Ogmore are very popular with guests.

Walking

The Glamorgan Heritage Coastal Path offers stunning coastline and beaches. There are also many walks from the cottage in the nearby woods and across the countryside. 0.1 miles

Fishing

Several lakes and course venues nearby including Canada Lakes Trout Fishery. 2 miles.

Fantastic Sea Fishing in the Bristol Channel via Charters boats from Cardiff Bay. 9 miles

Golf

There are many great golf courses nearby including the Celtic Manor (home of 2010 Ryder Cup), Vale Resort and also Cregiau Golf Course. 1 mile.

Cycling

Bike Park Wales offers some of the best mountain biking in the UK and is only 15 miles away. Other “off-piste” mountain biking can be done in the woodlands around the cottage. 0.2 miles.

Pony trekking

Liege Manor Equestrian Centre is home to over 70 horses and ponies. With tuition for all ages and abilities. 14 miles.

Beaches

The Glamorgan Heritage Coast has numerous beaches, ranging from the bustling resort of Barry Island (16 miles), to the stunning beach at Southerndown (18 miles).

Water Sports

The Cardiff International White Water Centre (CIWW) offers canoeing, white water rafting, kayaking, hydro speed and hot-dogging. (All equipment can be provided). 11 miles.
