Ger-y-llyn adjoins the owners property and was self built in 2009. Ger-y-llyn itself is set in 20 acres of the owners impressive 240 acres of farm land where race horses are bread. The land includes a small lake (fenced off with gated access) with an abundance of wildlife and fish, and the children will enjoy feeding the ducks, visiting the pet sheep and playing on the large lawn areas.

There’s an air of excitement surrounding the capital city of Cardiff as it becomes ever more popular with visitors. It is an impressive city with a proud civic centre, a shopping centre which is a shopper’s paradise where traditional shops co exist with brand new shopping malls. With excellent transport into the city, Cardiff is easily accessible from anywhere in South Wales. The Millennium Stadium is Cardiff’s premier sporting venue and well worth a visit. The Capital of Wales has enjoyed a major rebirth since its days as the worlds leading coal-exporting port.Nowadays there’s a lot more to Cardiff then coal. Just recently a number of top venues have opened up making it one of Britain’s most appealing destinations. Probably the most important new feature is the stylish new waterfront that runs along Cardiff Bay with many new hotels, restaurants and bars. Then there’s Techniquest, the new Science Discovery Centre with 160 interactive exhibits, a planetarium, science theatre and a discovery room.
Other popular attractions in Cardiff include: the National museum and the Victorian Arcades (where you’ll find some excellent shops). Not to be missed is Cardiff’s famous castle. It was built ages ago during Roman times. In the nineteenth century it was recreated in medieval style by William Burges, architect to the Earl of Bute, as a fairytale residence. It’s a fascinating structure, well worth checking out. The Waterbus operates throughout the year in Cardiff Bay giving visitors to the Cardiff a unique view of the City from the water.

The Cardiff area
Ger-y-llyn is situated on an impressive 20 acre estate within a 200 acre working farm. Set in picturesque, tranquil countryside it is within walking distance (approx 750m) of the welcoming village of Peterston-Super-Ely and yet is only 7.5 miles from the Centre of Cardiff. Peterston-super-Ely offers a shop, post office and 2 friendly, local pubs both serving great food. The village church was made famous as a filming location for the BBC comedy series Gavin & Stacey. There are many enjoyable walks to be found including the Valeways Millennium Heritage Trail that passes through the village, and the quiet country roads provide great cycling. Despite the country feel there is a large Tesco and Marks and Spencer only 4 miles away.
Cardiff is a city of attractions, sport, culture and entertainment. It has many famous attractions including the The Millennium Stadium, Cardiff Castle, St. Davids' Hall, New Theatre and St. Davids 2 shopping Centre. Cardiff has notched up a fine reputation as a sporting capital thanks to the quality of the events and facilities. Whether you want to watch or play, Cardiff's sporting scene beats many of its competitors. Cardiff City Stadium hosts all of Cardiff City and Cardiff Blues' home games. Glamorgan cricket (venue for international cricket, including the Ashes) and Sophia Gardens cricket (venue for international cricket, including the Ashes).
Cardiff Bay is Europe's most exciting waterfront development. Cardiff Bay is home to the Wales Millenium Centre, Y Senedd (The National Assembly building) as well as numerous other attractions such as bars, restaurants, Olympic sized swimming pool and leisure facility, White water Centre, Yacht Club, Cycle and there are numerous walking trails and paths around the Cardiff Bay Barrage.

Along the Glamorgan Heritage Coast there are numerous beaches, ranging from the bustling resort of Barry Island, 7 miles, to the more peaceful and stunning beach at Southerndown, 15miles.

The Cardiff International White Water Centre (CIWW) offers canoeing, white water rafting, kayaking, hydro speed and hot-dogging. (All equipment can be provided). 11 miles.
Public footpaths –
There are many walks including the Glamorgan Heritage Coastal Path and the Valeways Millennium Heritage trail. 0.1 miles.
Fishing –
The pond on site holds some large Carp. 0 miles. Fantastic Sea Fishing both shore and via Charters boats available. 7 miles.
Golf Course –
One of the closest courses is Cottrell Park, an idyllic venue set in the heart of 400 acres of beautiful Parkland. 1.5 miles. Other nearby courses include The Vale Resort 3.4 miles and the prestigious Celtic Manor, host to the 2010 Ryder Cup. 29miles.
Cycling –
The quiet country lanes found around the farm are ideal for cycling but there are also several tracks nearby including the Taff Trail route between Cardiff and Brecon. 7 miles.
Pony trekking –
Liege Manor Equestrian Centre is Wales' premier equestrian centre and home to over 70 horses and poniesThe Centre specialises in tuition for all ages and abilities. 2 miles.
