About the property managers:

We're a couple in our early thirties who outgrew the apartment next door (which has exactly the same setup) and moved into a larger one. I'm a Telecommunications Engineer and Claudia is a school-teacher.

The property owner delivered us the apartment in January 2013

Why we chose an apartment in this location:

I've grown near this apartment, it was a dream come true for me to buy this previledged apartment next to everything I love. As a couple we loved watching the starry nightsky during the summer confortable nights outside in the terrace, we loved bringing friends over to the terrace, listening to some soft music, relaxing outside all day long in the hammock or the loungers. We'd go for our nightly walk in the sea promenade. We'd go out at night to the most various places by train without worrying about drunk driving. We're detail oriented, so everything in this house was thought out to provide you the same kind of experience we had while living here, and I've got to tell you, it was truly amazing. This apartment is exactly the same setup as ours (which We've been renting for a few years now with immense success).

Unique benefits of the property:

Breathtaking, silent, huge nightsky over the ocean (should weather permit). You should see the thunderstorms...they light the whole place up through the huge windows facing the sea. Every little detail in this house was carefully thought out...we're not cutting any corners as we owe a lot to this place. We passionately believe it deserves to show itself to you in its full glory. No need to convince you on the benefits of the seaview and the proximity to the beach. Go everywhere in town, see everything then come back to a relaxed, tranquil and very easygoing environment. Have some great guys giving you suggestions should you need them: us.

The Central Portugal region

15 minutes away (car or train) from Portugal's capital city, the Estoril Coast has a wonderful climate and is a superb natural environment.

Owing to a Mediterranean type micro-climate, the Estoril Coast has mild winters and an ideal summer temperature which never gets too hot. The autumn is ideal and is like a second spring.

Nowhere else in the world can such dramatic changes of scenery and such contrasting atmospheres be experienced in as small an area as the Estoril Coast. The region offers a concentration of different experiences all within a half hourâ??s drive. Apart from an enormous range of sights attractive to any visitor, a number of more specialised interests can also be pursued.

Carcavelos

Carcavelos:

Carcavelos is a parish in the Portuguese municipality of Cascais, about 12 km west of Lisbon. The village used to be known for the Carcavelos wine, but since the wine production is nowadays reduced, Carcavelos is better known among surfers because of the good surfing condition of the Carcavelos beach.

Carcavelos also marks the mouth of the Tejo River. To the east side of the Carcavelos beach there is a huge fortification named Forte de São Julião da Barra. It was used to protect the Tejo river entrance from enemy ships. Currently it is used as the official summer residence of the Ministry of Defense.

In the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, Carcavelos was an important landing point in the international telegraph network, providing crucial communication links for the British Empire. Most of the links were run by forerunners of the Cable & Wireless company.

Carcavelos is home to a number of international schools including Saint Julian's.

"Great place to stay!!"

This apartment located on 3rd floor of a 3 story apartment block is just right for two people. Property manager lives in building and is available to help out when needed. She is long time resident of the area and knows the area well. Kitchen is fully equipped including clothes washer. Some instruction in correct use of appliances would have been helpful but caretaker helped answer any questions about appliance use. Owner was always available to solve internet-wi-fi problems. Owners were also kind enough to lend us a cell phone when ours quit. One special feature. is floor to ceiling windows giving access to wide spacious deck well appointed with furniture and BBQ. Deck affords a view of the Atlantic Ocean. Glass doors are protected by metal shutters. Area is quiet at night enabling weary travellers to rest comfortably after and active day of sight seeing. Cooking facilities are available. You can pick up up ingredients to prepare any dish at nearby Pingo Doce outlet which also offers many delightful take out items. Our month’s stay in Portugal was certainly enhanced by our comfortable accommodation, the thoughtfulness of the owners and the kindness of the caretaker. David and Dulce Bentham February 18, 2013
