About the home

Villa Frederic Chopin is a modern fully equipped 3 bedroom villa with private pool ideal for families. The villa is 5 years old, bright and airy with tiled floors for those hot summers. The property has just recently been redecorated and refurnished. It has a private walled large garden and the private pool area which is south facing has sunloungers and outside dining table and chairs which accommodates 8 people. There is also a Gazebo where you can take shelter from the hot sun.

It comprises of 2 double bedrooms, 1 double with bunk overhead bedroom, a double sofa bed and travel cot. It has a large bathroom with separate WC. It also has an outdoor solar shower. It is located in the picturesque village of Trebes on the Canal Du Midi with all amenities within walking distance yet less than a 10 min drive to the bustling city of Carcassonne.

If you want to experience some history a visit to the Medieval Castle "La Cite" is a must. La Cite is alive with tourists sampling local cuisine in numerous bars and restaurants or watching in amazement live jousting which is a must for both adults and children alike.

The Med is a 30 min drive away or if you wish to sample the beach without the drive then you can visit Carcassonne Plage at Lac de la Cavayere less than 10 min drive away. There is supervised swimming, paddle boats available for rent, picnic areas and a crazy golf course.

There is plenty to do during your stay and we suggest a drive through the tranquil French countryside with its many hamlets and chateaux/ vineyards to explore. A visit to the African Reserve in Sigean approx. 45 min drive is also worth a day trip. You can drive your car through the reserve where the animals roam freely . . . a great family daytrip.

The property is located in a quiet, peaceful residential area within the village of Trebes and is ideal for famiies. It has all amenities within walking distance, boulangerie, pattiserie, pharmacy, post office, bars, restaurants, banks, butchers and Supermarkets. Trebes is nestled amongst the well known wine regions of the Minervois, Corbieres, Cabardes and Malpere where you can visit the local vineyards for some great deals on great wines. The property can sleep 7 or 9 if you decide to use the pull out double sofa bed. There is also a travel cot on request free of charge so it may even suit 2 families who wish to share.

Further details outdoors:
Outside you can relax by the private swimming pool or sit on the front terrace which gives nice shelter from the sun. The pool has a shallow end for kids and there is also an outside heated solar shower. There is a patio and BBQ area for those balmy evenings and a large side garden where the kids can run around or kick a ball. The house is very safe so you don't have to worry about the kids, you can close the gates and allow them to play.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Aude region

Trebes is in the Aude dept. of the Languedoc-Roussillon, which is France's largest wine producing region. Local AOCs include Minervois, Cabardes, Corbieres, Malpere and Fitou. Situated in the heart of the historical Cathar Region there are many places of interest including the world renowned medieval cite of Carcassonne, the Cathedral at Narbonne and other historical chateaux. To the north of Trebes is the Montagne Noire and the National Park.

To the south is the Corbiere Hills and Pyrennes Mountains and to the East the warm waters of the Mediterranean. It is within 1.5 hour drive of Montpellier the capital of the region. Barcelona can be reached within 2.5 hours and makes for a great day drip either by car or by train. The climate is typical Mediterranean with hot summers with temperatures in late 20's early 30's and an average of 12 hours sunshine per day.

The Carcassonne / Trebes area

The Village of Trebes has all amenities available within walking distance from Villa Frederic Chopin. It hosts some really nice restaurants, bars, pizza and Kebab take-outs, boulangerie, pharmacy, Super U supermarket, and of course the Sunday Market held at the Old Bull RIng which features stalls of fresh fruit, veg, clothing and more. Weekly festivals are held throughout the summer in Trebes and Carcassonne.

Fly direct from Cork, Dublin, Shannon , Liverpool, Standstead and East Midlands via Ryanair. Villa is approx. 15 min drive from Salvaza Airport. Fly to Toulouse with Aer Lingus, British Airways, Easyjet, Flybe and Jet2.com (drive time to villa Frederic Chopin approx. 45mins). Alternatively, Easyjet, Ryanair, Flybe and BMI Baby operate flights to Perpignan which is a drive time of approx. 50mins.

For more than 1 week rental there will be a charge of £30 for a change of linen and towels but only if requested

A non-refundable 20% deposit to be paid within 5 days of confirmation of booking

Balance and security deposit, plus £30 for bedlinen/towel change if requested due 8 weeks prior to arrival date (unless otherwise agreed for last minute bookings with owners)

Refundable security deposit of £150 to be paid with balance. This deposit will be returned 2 weeks after stay (upon satisfactory inspection of the property)

Payment can be made by bank transfer in GBP or Euro

Should you wish to rent for < week in off peak periods please contact us and we will do our best to facilitate your request

We highly recommend holiday insurance to cover you in the event of a last minute need to cancel as bookings are nonrefundable.
