It is only a short train or car journey to the bustling city of Toulouse, an hour from the coast, and approx. 2 hours drive to Barcelona. Surrounded by mountains, the Pyrenees and Black mountains are easily reachable for winter sports. How to get there
Ryanair flies daily from Dublin, Cork, Shannon, Liverpool, East Midlands, London & Brussels to Carcassonne's Salvaza airport just three kilometers from the centre of the city. A taxi to the city centre costs approximately €10.00. You can also take the shuttle bus which meets the Ryanair flights and takes 10 minutes to the city centre for €5.00.
The train station is only 5 minutes from the apartment which connects with everywhere in France. Narbonne is only 40 minutes away as is Tolouse in the opposite direction.
There are many car hire companies situated at the airport and also in the town centre which include Hertz, Europcar etc.

Further details indoors: Lazing about in the apartment you still get the sense of being in the thick of it with everything on the doorstep.
The apartment is situated on the first floor of this typical old french building. Well proportioned at 56m2 and comprising of a good sized shower room, fully equipped kitchen and both the bedroom and sittingroom open out onto the terrace which overlooks the square below. Everything is provided for in the apartment creating a very comfortable stay in this beautiful historic town.
Further details outdoors: Right outside the front door is an abundance of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops. A small farmers market takes place on Tuesday & Thursday mornings in the square with a large market taking place every Saturday morning.
The Cite is approximately a 15 minute walk from the apartment over the Pont Vieux bridge which provides great views of the castle. Again there are many cafes, bars, restaurants and shops in the Cite and the views over the old town are fantastic.
Approx 12 km from town is the Lake Caveyere which is a lake beach. It is a perfect spot for sunbathing, swimming and caters for many water sports.

Conditions
Week long stays (Sunday to Sunday) are ideal and allow visitors to enjoy the Saturday market in Carcassonne. Where no weekly bookings have been made, shorter or longer stays will be considered. Please contact owner.

A refundable security deposit (£160 or €200) will be required when booking and will be fully refunded following a check for contents loss/damage when the apartment has been vacated.
