Home description
The unique 'Sloping Roof Mill' is located at the edge of a small village with all amenities in the beautiful Languedoc. Gorgeous dolphin tiled swimming pool (4 by 8m) is private, just for the two mills. Solar heating brings it near to air temperature, making it even more pleasurable! Private, full sized grass tennis court, not Wimbledon of course. Charmingly renovated, open-plan, the two levels provide a fabulous holiday home for 4 people. Ideal for families. Set in our 10 acre domain of glorious countryside, on a hill, private, yet at the edge of a small village in Aude with magnificent views in all directions. Beautiful sunsets with our two Camargue horses outlined against the horizon.
Underwater lighting as well as lamps around the pool makes sitting on the pool terrace by the olive trees an experience worth remembering. Watch the bright stars at night as you are far away from city lights and the air is unpolluted. Perfumes of wild thym and lavender dominate the senses. Fantastic views in all directions. Watch the setting sun as you've never seen it!
This historically interesting 13th century stone windmill, built during the Cathar period, together with its twin mill, is described as the first in the South of France. Guestbook
2008 August...but this place, the Sloping Roof Mill, is quite unique. Apart from the fact that it is actually a 'Tardis', and a very comfortable one too, it has spirited us away from the rest of the world in a very special way. ... temperatures in the 30's we've loved the pool and sitting out on the terrace at night listening to the owls and watching for shooting stars...Thank you both for such a great experience. Stan + Les
2008 June.... Once more we had a wonderful week here in the Sloping Roof Mill. We enjoyed every minute. The beautiful pool is so hard to leave ..Hope to see you again next year, Audrey and Jim.
2007 September ...We're delighted to have discovered 'La Couscouillette' and its tranquility - we adore the Languedoc area and will be back next year to another 2 weeks of heaven!... Gill & Phil
2007 August ....Have enjoyed a wonderful week...... You have created a little oasis and we have loved sharing it - if only for a week.. the Olivers
2007 July ...Loved the secluded pool, almost too hot at times...Wendy & JJ August
