The kitchen/dining room:
The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with everything a keen cook needs. The worktops and sink are crafted from local granite. A large granite topped table in the centre of the room seats 10 comfortably in white-washed wicker chairs in front of an open fire place - perfect for winter dining. Outside the double doors there is large teak table and chairs underneath a tiled roof providing a shady eating area in the summer. The adjacent utility room has a large fridge, butlers sink, freezer, microwave and washing machine.
Childrens Sitting Room:
Furnished with comfortable sofas, free to view UK TV, DVD player, IPOD dock , guidebooks, maps, games, jigsaws and an extensive selection of books.
The Salon:
A massive room with polished hardwood floors and two sets of French windows opening onto the south facing terrace and a largely glazed east wall. Squashy leather sofas on which to laze, listen to music on the a sound system from an eclectic selection of CD’s or read a book. In the winter it’s gloriously cosy - just toss on a log!
Bedrooms: The 5 large bedrooms are furnished to a high standard with 3 double bedrooms, 1 Twin and 1 room with bunk beds. The master bedroom has an en-suite and there is 1 additional bathroom and 1 wetroom all finished to a high standard.

The house also provides a food processor for keen cooks, an IPOD dock, multiple hair dryers and several log fires to enjoy in the winter.

The house is surrounded on all sides by wide terraces. Set in 20acres, visitors are ensured privacy and peace. The pool nestles at the base of an old stone wall surrounded on three sides by oak terracing, aromatic rosemary and lavender planting. A pool alarm ensures safety when the pool is not in use.

This is a beautiful region of France where vineyards and sunflowers abound. Wine tasting is available everywhere.
The Pyrenees are visible from many places locally and easily reached.
The location is wonderful too for visiting the many Cathar castles and of course the fairytale ancient cité of old Carcassonne is a must for young and old alike.
The "rose" city of Toulouse makes a great day out and the Mediterranean beaches are little over an hour away and only 2 hours to the borders with Spain and Andorra.
The Carcassonne / La Cassaigne area
The house is located in a village called La Cassaigne and is situated approximately 23km from Carcassonne. La Cassaigne is typical of a sleepy circulade village of the region where the pace of life is very slow but you may find yourself here when there is a local fete and then there will be dancing in the streets literally.
The medieval city of Carcassonne is less than half an hour away by car. The nearest town is Bram with plenty of shops and a bustling Wednesday market. Another nearby town is Limoux which is renowned for its sparkling wine Blanquette de Limoux said to predate champagne. It has to be tried and where better than at the summer night market held every week in July and August. Market day is every Friday in Limoux and Monday in the medieval and historic square of Mirepoix which is not far away and well worth a visit.
