Home description

Standing in its own fully enclosed grounds, our family holiday home is spacious, comfortable and newly refurbished. The proximity of the lakeside beach, a large garden, terrace and fabulous views make it ideal for children and adults alike. The small and friendly resort of Maubuisson, is a 5 minute walk along the promenade and has all the necessary shops and a good selection of bars and restaurants. Access to the network of cycle paths is directly in front of the house and will take you around the lake to the port of Bombannes, and through the pine forest out to the Atlantic beaches(5km). Just 10kms from the surfers paradise of Lacanau ocean and 40mins from the beautiful city of Bordeaux the area also boasts 2 golf courses and the Medoc wine growing region.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Gironde region

This area of the Gironde is well know for both its wine growing region to the East and its sandy Atlantic Coastline to the West.
Set in the beautiful natural pine forest between the two are the hidden treasures of lake Carcan/Maubuisson and lake Lacanau.
The lovely historic city of Bordeaux with its beautiful architecture, wonderful shopping and chic riverfront bars and restaurants is only 45 mins away as is the popular cosmopolitan Arcachon bay .
This is therefore a truly superb region for a family holiday.

Carcan / Maubuisson area

Maubuisson is a friendly village resort with all amenities including butchers, bakers, small supermarkets, good selection of bars and restaurants, bank, cinema, post office, nightclub, mini golf, tea room and wonderful ice cream shops.
The sandy lakeside beach. and clean water is perfect for swimming and allwatersports including sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, waterskiing,pedalo etc.There are many kms of cylce path and footpaths for those keen on ,and well maintained . Also waterskiing and fishing. 5kms to the sandy Atlantic beach of Carcan plage - surfing, jetskiing
