The terrace of the cottage covered with bougainvillea and equipped with an outside BBQ is offering beautiful mountain views and is very peaceful and quiet. Chill with a glass of wine on the swing bench and enjoy nature in its best way!

The Western Cape region
The Western Cape province has so much to offer..............
- 30 min away from Noordhoek is Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. A must is to visit is Robben Island, the castle, the Waterfront and of course..................Table Mountain, for some amazing Cape Town views.
- A great place to go for a picnic is Kirstenbosch botanical gardens. While enjoying a lunch on the lawn, you will be surounded by a wide variety of African vegetation.
- For some serious wine tasting you definitely have to visit the Winelands, which offers a great variety of wine estates.
- Cape Point, the most Southern part of Africa and the place where the 2 oceans meet, is 25 min away from Noordhoek. It's a beautiful drive along the coast and there is a great chance that you will pass by some baboons on your way.
Simonstown, 15 min away from Noordhoek is well known for Boulders beach, the home of the penquins!
Another must to visit is Seal island in Houtbay, only 20 min away from Noordhoek. Catch a boot at Houtbay harbour and you will get the chance to see hundreds of seals relaxing and playing in the water.
The Clovelly golf club is only 15 min away by car, so golf lovers bring your clubs and join for 18 holes on this beautiful golf course.
Although the Western Cape can get quite hot in summer time ( nov - mar), there is always a nice sea breeze in Noordhoek that will keep you cool!
Cape Town / Noordhoek area
Noordhoek is a small village situated in between Cape Town and Cape Point. Driving around Noordhoek you will realise that almost all residents have 1 or more horses in their back garden! Not surprising as Noordhoek is located right on Long Beach, a 10 km unspoiled beach, where horseback riders have all space to exercise their horses.
Besides horseback riding is a perfect place to go for some sunbathing or a serious beach walk and explore the shipwreck! From Aug - Nov there is a great chance to spot some whales, playing along the coastline of Long Beach! Don't miss the stunning sunsets!
Noordhoek is also the starting point of Chapmans Peak, a toll road scenic drive along the Atlantic board with magnificent views.
How to get there
Airlines such as SA, BA, LH and KLM all fly directly from Europe to Cape Town International airport, which is a 40 min drive away from Shack Chic cottage. Carrental companies are available at the airport, but reservations should be made in advance in high season. Airport taxi service is available on request. A detailed route description from the airport to the cottage will be offered before departure.

Further details indoors: This funky and colourful cottage is most suitable for 1 couple or a family with kids between 3 and 12 years old. For the little ones we will be able to provide a cot. The main bedroom is situated downstairs with a bathroom en-suite. The second bedroom is on the loft and especially decorated for kids. The Large kitchen with dining room table is fully equipped with hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine. The living room area with fire place provides access to the terrace and private little garden. Outdoor BBQ and dining facilities available.
Further details outdoors: Shack Chic cottage is set on a 5 acre plot and runt by a Dutch family, living in the main house together with 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 pigs, 2 rabbits and a dam full of Tilapia fish. It’s a true paradise for kids. The playground offers a tree house with slide, 2 swings, a trampoline, a skateboard ramp and a swimming pool shared with the owners of the main house. Soccer and basketball facilities are also available. A bunker and some holes will give golfers the opportunity to do some serious practicing in the back yard.
