About the home

Your perfect place in the sun! Island View Villa is all about views and space, both of which it has in spectacular abundance.

The house is perfectly located on the slopes of Signal Hill in Green Point, overlooking the Green Point Common in the foreground and the dramatic sweep of Table Bay. Watch the ships sail by Robben Island on their way into port.

If entertainment is your thing, you can't do better than this. Wonderful flow from the living rooms and bedrooms to huge, sea-facing balconies. Large, sparkling pool. Excellent security. Garaging for 3 cars.

The triple garage has direct, secure access to the first level. Here you will enter the huge sitting room, dining room and open-plan kitchen. The living area flows out onto an enormous, sun-drenched terrace, ideal for entertaining.

There is also one bedroom on the first level, with its own bathroom.

Three bedrooms are located on the 3rd level. The magnificent master suite is enormous and beautifully appointed, and has a luxurious en-suite bathroom and a separate shower, with an awesome sea view!
Both the master bedroom and another bedroom on this level lead onto a huge sea-facing terrace that runs the entire length of the property. The 3rd bedroom on this level faces onto the swimming pool terrace.

The villa is serviced and a change of bedding & towels provided, once a week. More frequent (even daily) servicing is available, by prior arrangement.

The Western Cape is South Africa's premier tourist destination, famous for its stunning coastline and breathtaking scenery. When Sir Francis Drake first rounded the Cape in 1580, he famously described it as "The most stately thing and the fairest Cape we saw in the whole circumference of the earth."...

September to March is the peak season for good weather and for tourism. High temperatures range from 19º C in September (highest recorded is 33º) to 27º C in February (highest recorded is 38º C). In spring and summer (September to February) there is little rain, and strong south-easterly winds occur during November and early December.

The Cape Town / Sea Point area

Cape Town is a sophisticated, cosmopolitan city at the gateway to a majestic continent. Warmed by the African sun, the city is dominated by a towering table-shaped mountain, set on a peninsula of soaring, rocky heights and lush valleys, where two great oceans converge.

The city is a melting pot of cultures and offers a wide range of activities that cater to the adrenalin junkie (sky-diving, mountaineering, shark-cage adventures) and those in pursuit of more leisurely activities like lapping up the sun on the golden beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, or visiting the beautiful wine lands of Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. You can also explore the city's rich history (The Castle, The Slave Lodge, The District Six museum & The Gold of Africa museum, to name a few). Take a ferry out to Robben Island to see the conditions under which some of South Africa's more famous freedom fighters, including Nelson Mandela, Walter Sisulu and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Albert Lithuli were imprisoned.

No visit to Cape Town is complete with out a trip around the peninsula, one of the most scenic drives in the world. Visit the Cape Point nature reserve, on the southern tip of the peninsula, and stroll among the penguins at Boulders Beach in Simonstown.

Green Point, where Villa Atlantica is located, lies on the Atlantic Seaboard, about 5 kms from the centre of Cape Town and a few minutes' drive from Clifton, Bantry Bay and Camps Bay. The Atlantic Seaboard is known for its excellent restaurants and the world famous beach front promenade, which stretches all the way along the coast from the V&A Waterfront to Camps Bay. It is ideally situated as a base from which to explore the wonders of the Cape peninsula & wine lands.

“Spacious, beautiful villa in convenient location.” Island View villa provided ideal accommodation for our family of 6. The open plan living area leading to the main terrace is light and relaxing. Seaward views from the front of the property are beautiful,whilst the pool and garden area at the rear is attractively landscaped. It is possible to walk to the city amenities and waterfront, though it is uphill on the way back! There were some problems with the air conditioning, pool maintenance and the internet connection. Though these were irritating, time-consuming and inconvenient, they were dealt with by the owner's agent. Overall, the villa proved a lovely environment for our family holiday in CapeTown. We would be happy to return there. (Do check the prices as the current advertisement in GBP appears to be inaccurate)

Hi Gary.

All the very best for 2011. I would like to take this time to thank you and Gift for all your attention looking after us during our stay in the villa. Firstly we would like to say in someway the pictures do not do the villa justice. It certainly has the Wow factor!

We had a fabulous time there and coming back every night after driving all over the region was a joy; a real home from home for us all.

Our guests who came to visit were all gobsmacked (as we say over here) at our SA home.

We had it all, Sun. Rain. Fire. Mostly we have wonderful memories of a glorious holiday.
